Number 12, a charming space in central Colombo

Centrally located in Colombo, on a private road in a residential neighbourhood, this self-contained 1st floor unit is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Colombo yet very close to the main central business district, shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, cultural sights, supermarkets and even the beach. The space - fully furnished unit exclusively for your use, with a spacious air conditioned bedroom with an attached bathroom, separate lounge area, balcony and your own safe parking spot. It is a spacious and charming 1st floor unit with a separate private entrance. A short flight of stairs leads into a large lounge space with a TV (comes with a satellite TV connection), comfy sofa, fridge, a bookcase, a dining table with crockery and tea/coffee making facilities. The balcony overlooks a mini outdoor space and has two comfy chairs and a table for you to enjoy your morning cuppa. The spacious bedroom has a double bed, a separate multi-functional seating area and an attached bathroom. We can accommodate an additional guest within the same bedroom by adding a single bed, for an additional supplement of £5 per night. This room has two AC units a ceiling fan and a pedestal fan. There is also a book case in the room with a few board games for you to use. The bedroom also has a spacious wall cupboard with a mirror in the middle. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is a common front gate to enter the property but you have a separate and private entrance to your 1st floor unit. Included: Tea / coffee / milk / mineral bottled water Towels and bedding Free Wi-Fi Iron and Ironing board A full free weekly clean of the unit including change of linen will be provided for stays longer than seven days. If you’d require a clean sooner please let me know and this can be arranged. We will meet you on arrival and we are more than happy to provide our guests with all the information they need during their stay. We will be on hand if you need anything during your stay. The charming and spacious 1st floor unit is on Maurice Place which happens to be a private road named after my father. My mother moved to Sri Lanka from England in 1952 and the main house has been our family home ever since. Maurice Place in itself is a quiet leafy road and very centrally located to a host of local amenities and is only a short distance away from the central business district. Colombo is a relatively small city with most places of interest within a 10 minute drive (traffic permitting!) however, closer to home, within walking distance from Number 12 you’ll find the following - Seyln (local handicrafts and clothing store) Hansa Coffee (charming coffee shop with snacks and locally grown coffee) Tasty (arguably where you find the best prawn rolls in town and other mouth watering Sri Lankan 'short-eats') Cool Planet - a mini-mall with a few food kiosks A whole host of other amenities including Keels supermarket, and popular banks for ATM facilities. Tuk-Tuks can be hailed very easily at the top of the road ( 1 minute walk) but we can also help organise local transport for you if needed. We have phone numbers of local Tuk-Tuk drivers who we have been using on a regular basis for nearly 20 years. Alternatively, you can also book a taxi using the uber or pickme apps.
