Domaine Lapopie
Gite, near historical village, quiet, private swimming pool with unique view
Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a medieval village in the valley of the river Lot, not far from Rocamadour and Cahors. It is located in the French Midi-Pyrénées region and the region itself is called Quercy. The village lies on the top of a steep rock above the Lot. The center of narrow and steep streets with half-timbered houses is not accessible by car and has always been popular with painters and artists. At the highest point of the village lies the Romanesque church and a ruin. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie has been named "the most sympathetic village in France" by the French! The region is also a true paradise for "green" tourism and offers a wide range of sights (Medieval fortresses and bastides, caves, Romanesque churches, typical markets, ...), gourmet pleasures (Cahors wine, foie gras, truffles, ...) and numerous sports possibilities (walking, cycling, horseback riding, canoeing on the Lot, fishing, rock climbing, ...) At 15 minutes walking distance from the village, accessible via a path, is our holiday home, more pictures and info can be found on our Facebook page Domaine Lapopie. It is very quiet in a dead end street with a garden of 4500 m2 and adjacent forest. From the domain you have a breathtaking view over several hills and the valley. There are 3 bedrooms: 2 rooms with a double bed of 1. 60m and 1 room with 2 bunk beds. (downstairs provided for 2 people each), 1 bathroom with bath and shower screen, 1 separate toilet, 1 brand new kitchen with all appliances (oven, induction plate, micro wave, dishwasher, coffee, ...), separate room with fridge and pantry / room, living room with fireplace, large terrace, and veranda (all windows open) On the terrace is a large table with 8 comfortable deck chairs. The garden is completely enclosed and private. The bubble bath that overflows into the pool both offer a beautiful view of the valley.
