For romantics who want to walk back from an Exmoor pub, be amazed by stars in a dark sky and snuggle in front of a log fire. For adventurers who fancy exploring Exmoor’s landmarks, discover its unspoilt beaches and enjoy a full range of activities from fishing and kayaking, to horse riding and red deer safaris. For seekers of peace who want to park up the car, enjoy cottage life, unwind and recharge. There is lots to see and do or just enjoy doing nothing in a cosy cottage immersed by beauty and the hypnotic burbling of the river. Across the single lane road and down a few steps there is a riverside garden with BBQ for you to sit and enjoy. Maybe see a kingfisher swoop as you breakfast or a meteor shower as you barbecue. Right in front of the cottage there is free street parking and an outdoor space to store bikes and kayaks. There are stunning circular walks in every direction and landmarks, activities, beaches and the motorway all within half an hour’s drive. The vibrant dog-welcoming town of Dulverton is a five minute stroll along the millstream with independent shops, eateries and award winning pubs. There is a strong sense of community with a farmer’s market and various festivals throughout the year. This is a whole cottage holiday let and though we have local contacts in the event of an emergency, we endeavour to leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. Dulverton is the gateway to Exmoor with its unspoilt moorland, valleys, woodland and wildlife stretching to a dramatic coastline rich in legend. Exmoor National Park has its headquarters here and under Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve so you can wonder freely at the universe and maybe be amazed by a meteor shower. Within Exmoor there are the tallest trees, the highest cliffs and the highest number of wild Red Deer in England. Native Exmoor ponies live freely among almost 250 species of bird and over 1000 different flowering plants and grasses. There are over 4,000 archaeological sites representing some 8,000 years of history. Exmoor is a beautiful, accessible and often overlooked part of the country. Whether you’re visiting Snowdrop Valley in early spring, wild swimming or exploring beaches in the summer, walking though ancient woodlands followed by a cream tea, stargazing by the campfire in autumn, going back in time on the steam train to Dunster or experiencing twinkling Dulverton by Starlight in December, this is an all year round destination that offers something for everyone whatever the weather. Explore on foot, bike, horse, by steam train, furnicular railway, car or a safari’s four wheel drive and experience the incredible wildlife and rich heritage. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite wetroom. Our third double bedroom can either be set up with 2 twin single beds OR one king size bed. Our dining room doubles up as a games room and dog hotel. As well as dining for six, it is set up with a five foot pool table, table tennis, board games and a PlayStation 3.
