Villa Mystiko is a private, luxuriously furnished and equipped family home in the unspoilt village of Vafkeri. Surrounded by almond and olive groves your only neighbours are the swallows and butterflies. Walking distance to the local taverna, it is a place for peace, relaxation and family time. A fifteen minutes drive to the beautiful beaches of Madhouri Bay in Lefkada. Take deep breaths and let your cares wash away at our much loved home. Villa Mystiko has magnificent views down a sequence of valleys, with patchwork almond and olive groves, and over the offshore islands of Skorpios and Meganisi and as far as the Greek mainland. The Villa is in the heart of the hamlet of Vafkeri which has a local taverna. The taverna is walking distance from the villa, but it is a steep climb back up after a few Mythos. In high season a vegetable and fish van comes to the village daily. If you can drag yourself away, Nidri and Kerya have supermarkets, bakers, butchers, wine shops, patisseries, tavernas, bars, clubs. Both towns are about a 15 minutes drive away. Madhouri Bay is also only 15 mins away and has a beautiful sand and small pebble beach, with fantastic calm waters for swimming Be like a greek and go late afternoon and finish up in one of the beachside tavernas watching the moon rise over the sea. You could hire a boat to get away from the crowds and explore the unspoilt beaches and deserted islands around Skorpios and Megannissi that you can see from the Villa. The world famous wind surfing beach of Vassiliki is 40 minutes away, and the stunning sandy beaches of the West coast are within an hours drive. The beaches of Kathisma are about 45 minutes drive and Porto Katsiki is an hour and a half. The drive to the West coast is mountainous . A great way to see the West coast is to take a boat trip. Have a days shopping in the Venetian town of Lefkada. The Villa is great for family and friends to relax and recharge together. An artists retreat and a nature lover's paradise. Great care and attention has been given to the design and construction resulting in not just a holiday villa but a home from home, a secret retreat, built to a very high standard with all modern comforts. The villa is British built and unusually has British plumbing and toilets. You can flush! We have super comfy beds, with luxury crisp white bedding and soft fluffy towels. Villa Mystiko has a new EOT licence confirming that it meets the exacting standards of the Greek Tourist Board. It is fitted with fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke alarms. The villa has air conditioning in all rooms and bedrooms. The wonderful big pool is perfect for chilling. The big patio with lots of different seating areas gives you space to get away from each other if needed. There is an outdoor shower by the pool which is bliss on hot summer nights. The pool will be cleaned twice a week. The garden will be tidied once a week. We have shared our home with friends and family and all ages have loved their time here. We have lots of board games, books, dvds, a telescope for star gazing and binoculars for wild life watching. I will ask our resident pair of Eagles to give you a flying display. This is a family holiday home and 2021 is only it's fourth year available to rent. Villa Mystiko has limited availability. It is only available in July and August and is booked up early in the year. Great for Film Night. Enjoy our library of DVDs or bring your own. We have a TV and DVD player. The Villa has a lovely garden filled with scented plants. We grow lots of different varieties of basil. On the beautiful and unspoilt Greek island of Lefkada found tucked away on a hillside terrace in the tiny village of Vafkeri, a sleepy hamlet of just a few stone houses, is Villa Mystiko. The villa overlooks the beautiful crystal waters of the Ionian islands and is a superb place to totally relax and unwind in complete privacy. A short stone-paved road leads from the village square to the private grounds of the villa. Vafkeri is a traditional Greek Village. The village has picturesque ruins, ancient olive and almond trees. You will wake to the sound of goat bells as the local flocks are taken out to pasture. There is one taverna The Platanos which is a grill house. They grow and serve their own vegetables and olive oil and wine. Vafkeri is a magical place. A place to slow down, breath and relax. The nearest towns, Nidri and Kerya have supermarkets, bakers, butchers, wine shops, patisseries, tavernas, bars, clubs and much more. Both towns are about 15 minute drive away. Lefkada town is a 30 min drive, and as the main town on the island is full of Venetian charm, shops, bars and restaurants and really comes to life in the evenings. The island has some of the best beaches in Greece. The east coast is sheltered with great swimming beaches and a myriad of islands to explore by boat. The West coast is more dramatic with its iconic fine white sandy beaches and towering white cliffs and the South coast has some of the very best windsurfing beaches in the world. Something for everyone! A car is essential. Parking is in the shade of the pine tree by the villa. Villa Mystiko is about one hour's drive from Preveza airport. The gorgeous pool will be cleaned twice a week and the garden will be cleaned once a week .
