The spacious and comfortably furnished apartment in a typical Salzkammergut-19th century villa can accommodate 2 to max. 4 persons. A small, private beach with jetty and a well maintained garden is available to guests for shared use with the owners. There is one bedroom with a large double-bed for 2. If 4 persons want stay, the sofabed in the kitchen/dining room can be converted to a double-bed. Villa Otterstein is located in the Salzkammergut, a famous lake district near Salzburg, where aristocrats once spent their 'Sommerfrische'. The House is near the lake Traunsee, only separated from the shore by the small municipal road. A small, private beach area is available to guests for shared use. The 65 m² large Garconiere consists of three rooms and a bathroom with toilet. One bedroom with double bed and sofabed, a lounge with sofa, flat screen TV and a large, fully equipped kitchen/dining room with kitchenette, stove, oven, kettle and coffee machine, dining table and a couch. If 4 guests are booking the flat, the sofabed in the kitchen/ding room will be used as additional double bed. The bath rooms is fitted with shower, sink, toilet and a washing machine. Whether from the apartment, right on the lake, or in the garden, it offers a breathtaking view of the lake and the opposite mountain panorama. We live in the house in the upper floors permanently. Information on trips, hikes or local advice we are pleased to share with you. The picturesque, historical center of Traunkirchen is a 10-minute walk away along the lakeside road. There are restaurants, a café with ice cream parlor and a grocery store. A bakery where breakfast is served on Sundays as well, a supermarket (Hofer), a public leisure center with beach and the sailing club (with sailing school) are also within walking distance in 15 minutes. On and around the Traunsee you will find a wide range of water sports such as rowing, sailing, diving, water skiing or kite-surfing. The mountains in the area are ideal for hiking, climbing and mountain biking. Tourist attractions in the Salzkammergut, such as a Salt Mine, Ice Cave, Mammoth Cave offer themselves as day trips. In winter the small skiing area 'Feuerkogel' invites to be explored with skis, snowshoes or cross-country skis. Other famous skiing areas within one hour's drive. Cultural highlights are available in the summer months in Gmunden and the Traunsee surrounding communities. The Mozart city of Salzburg is only an hour's drive away. A car-park in front of the house can be used free of charge. Bikers are welcome - bicycles can be parked. Traunkirchen is easily accessible by bus and train. The Traunkirchen train station is within walking distance in 15 minutes. A pickup can be arranged on request. Water Taxi can be booked. Loading operations of barges may occasionally be performed on weekdays during normal working hours in the port nearby. A 2-seater kayak can be hired on demand.
