'Little Cabin in the Field' at South Lodge Cottage
Self contained, self-catering glamping cabin (17 sqM/179 sqFt) for the more adventurous. Private and away from the house with heating, fully equipped kitchen, shower room and bedroom/living space with TV and WIFI. Bed linen, towels, iron/board and simple breakfast consumables provided. Panoramic views across Findon stretching from Cissbury Ring in the east to Chanctonbury Ring in the north all in the South Downs National Park. Our car park is nearby taking 6 vehicles up to camper van size. Quiet and peaceful yet minutes from Findon Village Community Shop and Post Office, Peckhams Farm Butchers, four foodie pubs, Sylvan Oak fine-dining restaurant and Tajdar Indian restaurant / takeaway and a cafe. A few more minutes further south is Findon Valley shopping centre with Tesco Express, M&S concession, take-aways, cafes, jewellers, florist, laundrette, dry cleaners and much more. Findon Manor Hotel, Cissbury Barns and Long Furlong Barn wedding venues just minutes by car. An adjacent bridle path joins the Monarchs and South Downs Way and around Clapham Bowl. Ideal walking / mountain biking routes. Guests have their own garden area and access to wander in the cabin field. We have bee hives at the bottom of the adjacent field for those interested in the comings and goings of bees collecting pollen and nectar that can be closely observed from the cabin field as can our free range hens and ducks nearer to the cabin. Both hosts are available pretty much all the time although we do work but our contact numbers are available on the information sheet in your accommodation. Brighton, Worthing, Arundel, Horsham and Chichester are short drives away with Goodwood and Fontwell racecourses, Southwater Country Park, Angmering banger racing, Tangmere Aviation Museum, Cass Sculpture Park, Arundel and Bramber castles, Pulborough and Arundel wetland bird sanctuaries, Bognor Butlins, Littlehampton West Beach, Druscilla's and Fishers Farms animal zoo and activity centres, Amberley Castle fine dining, Amberley chalk pits museum and activity centre, Goodwood House and motor racing circuit, Seven Sisters country park. North / South bus routes at the end of our lane on the A24, plenty of local taxi services, 5 miles to Worthing Central Station. Alternatively the 'What3words" app takes you into our carpark: "inflates.ruled.strides" While guests are free to observe our hens their space is off-limits due to DEFRA bio-defence regulations to reduce the spread of Avian Flu. Disabled access is challenging with an uneven approach to the cabin and wooden steps onto the cabin platform. A narrow aisle in the kitchen access to the shower room precludes wheelchair or walking frame access. We do provide complimentary breakfast essentials for the first morning of your stay.
