The Old Thatched House is a 150 year old detached house set in a beautiful garden, very private but within walking distance of 3 pubs in a peaceful village only 4 miles from the centre of Bath. There are 2 large lawns and plenty of space for relaxing, a BBQ, patio heater and a fire pit. This is a lovely, comfy, immaculate home, tastefully decorated and furnished, set in a sunny garden of about an acre. The ambience is calm and tranquil and we hope guests will have a wonderful time. This is a lovely family home, tastefully decorated, with a large kitchen, large dining room and 2 sitting rooms. The kitchen and sitting room both have french doors to the very private garden. There is a log burner in the sitting room which makes cooler evenings cosy. The kitchen has a big aga, with a breakfast table for casual eating. The dining room has a lovely French oak table for hours spent eating and drinking whilst enjoying the views over the garden. The whole of the downstairs has reclaimed wooden boards. The upstairs is all carpeted with 4 double rooms, all with high quality cotton bed linen and white fluffy towels. There are 3 bathrooms, 2 ensuite and 1 family bathroom. There is a large utility room with sink and separate downstairs WC with washing machine and tumble dryer, this has a back door to the garden. The garden is perfect for socalising with a large table, gas BBQ, patio heater, fire pit and enough comfy seating for 8. We have made our home as luxurious and cosy, it is immaculately clean and homely. we hope that you will look after our home whilst, of course, having a fun, enjoyable time. In-House Cuisine If you'd like to spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost). Eating Out A delicious bevy of eateries can be found in the Bath and the surrounding villages; whether you hunger for elegant fine dining or long for typically British pub grub, there's lots to tempt even the most discerning of palates. Guests have full access to the house and garden. There are gates that lead onto the property with a large private driveway. Parking for 4/5 cars. I will meet guests on arrival and talk through anything needed, and be there to check you out. I will always be on the phone or email in case of any questions or problems. Margaret’s home is located in Limpley Stoke, Bath. United Kingdom. The house is set in the Limpley Stoke valley and neighbours the beautiful village of Freshford. There are lots of lovely walks in the area and we are very close to the Kennet and Avon canal path and the River Avon. We are walking distance to The Inn at Freshford which serves excellent food and has a beautiful riverside garden and 2 mins drive,( 10 mins walk), from Homewood Park, the country house hotel which has a fabulous day spa with treatments and a great restaurant, (open to non residents). If you like walking we are a few minutes drive from the National Trust Bath skyline and of course only 4 miles from the centre of Bath. The 2 tunnels cycle path is at the end of Midford Lane and goes either into Bath or to Wellow where there is another great pub, Fox and Badger. Bath is a Heritage City with many famous tourist attractions, cultural events and museums, and has hundreds of restaurants, pubs and night clubs. We are 20 minutes drive from Longleat Safari Park and Centre Parks. We have a bus stop at the end of the lane and Freshford train station is only 10 mins walk. Abbey taxis will take you into Bath for about £15. There is parking at the property for at least 6 cars and there is free parking in the lane just outside the house. Homewood Park Hotel is only a mile up the road and is a fabulous day spa, with all pampering treatments, a swimming pool and fine dining restaurant.
