Rural Retreat

Our property is an ex-dairy farm located in the Scenic Rim near the historic town of Harrisville, the Cunningham Hwy, Willowbank Raceway 10mins & 30 mins from Ipswich. We have a large house, which is spacious & comfortable, aircons, wood heater, gardens and enclosed pool. There are many activities in this area- a short drive to mountain ranges for hiking, dams for swimming, water sports, Boonah Art Gallery & cafes as well as local cafe, winery & museum. More wineries within 20 mins away.Enjoy! We have a large, 11 metre pool for your use which is enclosed by paving and decking and fenced. Our screened deck is a lovely spot to curl up, read and have a glass of wine after a day of site-seeing. We have a selection of cereals, toast & spreads, tea & coffee for your breakfast. Also our farm is 80 acres, so there is plenty of room to spread out. During your stay you may wish to have dinner at one of our local pubs or breakfast/lunch at the cafe which are 3 mins drive away. Or a 20 minute drive to Boonah which has a selection of cafes and pubs as well. The Scenic Rim area is a great place to drive around and discover hidden gems. Guests are welcome to use our pool at any time, but please be aware of time and noise. Also feel free to wonder about the house and garden at your discretion. There are two bathrooms, one large one with a double shower and toilet and also a smaller one with a bath which we will add another shower to at a later date. Also another separate toilet. There are two laundries, one inside and one under cover outside. There are two TVs, one small and one large for your use. Our kitchen, which is also spacious, can be used for your meals and is a shared area. A continental breakfast will be available which includes bread, butter and spreads, cereals, milk, tea coffee and sugar. We have a home style gym, please ask us about it before use. We'd appreciate all areas being left as you find them. We will be available for a chat, or to help you with site seeing options, etc, but if you would rather keep to yourself, we respect that. Please be aware we like our space at times too. Our neighborhood is a quiet, safe, rural area with very little traffic only 3 minutes from the quaint town of Harrisville. This area is great for walking, riding, photography & painting as well as less strenuous activities such as eating out, enjoying the local winery or fishing. A car or motorcycle is necessary to get to our house, but if you just want a quiet couple of days to rewind, just park your vehicle and relax. Taxis can be booked from Ipswich or Boonah, but it's best to get a quote first. Once here, you can walk or ride into harrisville which is only 3km away or if you are a serious bike rider, Eric can tell you where the biking enthusiasts head. We hope guests feel relaxed at our place, like many other friends and acquaintances we've hosted in the past.
