Its World Heritage status is well earned and its isolation means that nature can continue to sustain some of the remarkable creatures, landforms and beauty which make it up. If you wish too see amazing marine life including dugong, turtles, tiger sharks, mantas, whales and dolphin there is no better. If geological history interests you then visit the stromatolites. Like fishing? Shark Bay offers fantastic deep sea and bay fishing. It is also a 4WD adventure haven. The climate in terms of of temperature, cloud free days and sea breezes also makes the Bay ideal for visiting kilometres of pristine beaches, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing or kite surfing. Bush walking, bird watching and wildflower viewing are also very popular. There is no public transport available in Shark Bay. If you fly in hire cars are available and there are many tours which do the driving for you. If you are hiring a vehicle to visit Shark Bay seriously consider making it a 4WD. Shark Bay is not a place to visit if you which to take in the ballet or theatre or to dine in Michelin star restaurants. However if you wish to have a really relaxing break and wonder at nature at its best then you must visit and On the Deck @ Shark Bay is the ideal place to stay because it offers great accommodation sympathetic to the region and is located central to all the great activities.
