Our lovely traditional cottage is set at the end of a quiet little lane in the fabulous village of Lanivet. Lanivet is a picturesque village 10 minutes from Bodmin and perfectly centrally located for exploring Cornwall. Lanivet has a great fish and chip shop, a well stocked local shop and a brilliant pub that serves Cornish cider and food all day. The village is actually the most centrally located place in Cornwall so it is a great base for exploring. lt is also well connected for bus routes. Our cottage is a really cosy space with an old stove fireplace in the living room and flag stones in the kitchen along with all modern amenities that you might need. The gardens are fabulous. In the morning the front and back get the sun but we love sitting on the bench at the front first thing. The patio at the back is immediately outside the back door and you can have all your meals out there in nice weather. Then the garden extends out to further back to where our fabulous summer house lives with views of the little valley. There is further seating in the back garden and a fire basket for outdoor fires. It is a really peaceful, soothing space. The double bedroom sits above the living room and has an additional electric heater if there's a chill. There is another electric heater in the living room too. The living room has a double pull out sofa bed. There is a shower and bath in the bathroom with an electric heater. We provide all the coal while you're with us and we provide wood on your first night to get you started. The local shop sells wood so not far to go to stock up! All. I am more than happy to answer any questions before and during and even after people have stayed. I can offer lots of ideas and recommendations for things to do. Lanivet is such a fabulous little village served by a great local shop (sells local Cornish pasties and everything else you might need), a tasty fish&chip shop that people travel from far afield to eat at and an awesome local pub, the Lanivet Inn, which serves really good value, locally sourced food all day every day and on the weekends will often have a live band. However, since the pandemic all these places have put measures into place to ensure that they are operating safely. It is advisable to call and book in advance (details provided once booking confirmed). The village has a lovely green with a great childrens play area including zip line! All the locals are really friendly especially our neighbours on either side of the cottage. Our cottage, located in the idillic village of Lanivet, is most easily accessed by car. Its central location in Cornwall (also close to the A30) probably best serves car drivers as well. However, Lanivet has bus routes to Bodmin (about 10 minutes away) and to St Austell (about 30 minutes away). The nearest train station is Bodmin parkway. It is important to highlight that I recommend that you park at the free parking green grass triangle at the bottom of the alley. I think most of our guests choose to park here. This area by the church is free parking for the village so there's no guaranteed parking for the cottage but I've always got parked there or on Church Road. Furthermore, phone reception can be tricky or there is none at all. The village has decent Vodafone reception but not so much for other networks. We have always had pets at the cottage and this cottage is one that allows dogs. We allow dogs because the carpets are not brand new. They are not dirty but they are old carpets. We always felt this way guests don't have to feel too anxious (with or without dogs) in too pristine a space! The next door neighbours (to the left when facing the front of the cottage) have access to their back garden gate at the rear of our cottage. They may occasionally use this when they have been out walking their dog. The cottage and gardens are so fabulous but just in case we want you to be aware of these other factors.
