Treehouse with pool b/w Galle and Unawatuna Beach
Peaceful. private house floating in the canopy of the jungle. And an infinity pool. Silva Tree-house is a peaceful, secluded tree-house on the Rumasalla headland between Galle and Unawatuna Beach, on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. It's quiet and private, and only a few minutes from the beach at Unawatuna and the Galle Fort. The house is a steel and glass tower that rises above the canopy of the trees. Three bedrooms on the first floor are within the trees, keeping them cool and shaded. The top floor is above the canopy and is a single, glass-sided hall with sofas and kitchen and a balcony that looks over jungle to the sea. We have a new pool which lies beside the house and sits between the trees, with their branches providing shade. The house is usually rented on a bed and breakfast basis. During Covid restrictions we are not permitted to serve food. Mrs Ira, the manager who lives next door, is a great cook and may provide meals you require. She's also an ayevedic masseuse and wonderful baby-sitter. We can arrange airport collections and tours for you. If there are less people our rates come down. The house is rented as a whole. You have the place completely to yourself. There's no neighbor in sight of the house. You look across a valley to the tip of the Rumasalla headland and the Peace Pagoda, and then the sea. The elevated position of the house provides a cool breeze, and absolute privacy. A walk to Jungle beach on the harbour takes 10 minutes. The walk to Unawatuna Beach, through the villages, takes 20 minutes. The house has a mobile phone with the number of a tuk tuk driver who will arrive quickly and take you to the beaches or to the Galle Fort, which is about a 10 minute drive. Please note that there are stairs. And while the house is safe for children, it may not suit elderly people with mobility issues, or the parents of very active small kids.
