Delaware County. Professionally-designed Italianate, on an acre of landscaped property with an apple orchard. Walking/biking trails adjacent. Pastoral garden with mountain views, a block from village cafes and shops. Lilacs, peonies, hydrangeas, maples, depending on the season. Big eat-in kitchen, Adirondack chairs on the lawn, books and wi-fi, living room, dining room, and library. Adjacent walking/biking trails lead to spectacular hillside views and forest. This home is a perfect place to unwind with friends or alone. Wonderful light, high ceilings, square rooms, large windows with garden, orchard, and mountain views. Big eat-in kitchen, equipped for cooking. Back porch or Adirondack chairs on the lawn. Living room, library, dining room and three private bedrooms, one downstairs bathroom and two upstairs. Gather in the kitchen, read or talk in the library. Eat in the kitchen or dining room. Great for leisurely dinners of 2-6 people. Price discounted 15% for weekly stay. Once you drive onto the property and park your car, you can walk to nearby cafes, shops or supermarket. There is a lockbox for self check-in. The driveway easily accommodates three cars. You will have my cell number and e'mail address. This house is half a block from main street. Formerly an elegant vacation resort, Stamford is now a funky local town in a beautiful setting, with easy nearby walking trails, some new cafes and stores, and a diner. The Hobart Book Village is two miles away, Windham about 40 minutes, Cooperstown about an hour. There are farms and green stands where guests can hunt for local produce and meat. There is a bus to Stamford from the Port Authority, daily. It stops a few blocks from the house. The bus ride is five hours, with many stops. It is better to bring your car, but once you are here, you need not drive anywhere else you are interested in exploring neighboring towns. It's hard to find a property situated on an acre lot, yet so close to Main Street. Walk easily to the supermarket, the green stand, a diner, two cafes, and tennis courts. Stamford is enjoying a revival! There is a new general store, a smoked meat store, a supermarket, post office, diner, hardware store, antique store, and green stand. There is a Friday evening green market in nearby Hobart (don't miss an entire block of book stores) and another green market on Saturday in Roxbury. This house sits next to a biking/walking trail, and there is a network of trails in the forests, fields and hills.
