The 1950s cane cutters Barracks looks the same outside but inside it has become a comfortable modern guest wing to the 1920s farmhouse. On the top floor, there are two ensuite rooms with queen beds, and a third room with two single beds which has a bathroom downstairs. There is a living room and limited kitchenette (no oven or cooktop). Luxury on your own, or up to six together. There are breezy decks all around, with great views over the cane fields, set in the midst of a working farm. The kitchenette has a microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and fridge with filtered water dispenser. There is no cook top or oven. Guests are welcome to stroll and rest around the house and barracks grounds, and the laneway past the house is a public road leading to pleasant strolls along Shark Creek if you like a long walk. However, this is a working farm and guests should seek advice before approaching any machinery or working area, or entering any sheds or farm buildings. James is usually nearby on the property. Yamba on the coast is about 20-25 minutes drive. The inland town of Grafton is 25-30 minutes drive. Maclean is our local town at only 10 minutes drive. You will need a car to get around. Pick ups and drop offs to Maclean or Yamba can be arranged depending on our availability. Breakfast ingredients are available in the kitchenette. Help yourself. Ingredients include muesli, toast and spreads, milk, juice, tea, coffee.
