Tilba Coastal Retreat - The Terrace

As the name depicts, one of the features of this beautiful property is the sun-drenched outdoor “Terrace” accessible from every room. Enjoy afternoons relaxing on the sun loungers, taking full advantage of the BBQ and alfresco dining, whilst enjoying the surrounding views. This eco-architecturally designed property provides high apex ceilings, polished concrete floors that retain warmth and comfort day and night, complimented by a newly installed, wood burner fire place, in a spacious open plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen area, perfect for a couple or group of friends. Please note, Tilba Coastal Retreat is available for adults only. There are two large bedrooms, both of which hold comfortable, large king sized beds. There is enough parking for all guests as well as a Nespresso coffee machine, earth bath products, towels, linen and free Wi-Fi access to ensure you have everything you need on your stay. The Terrace is a separate locked off wing to The Courtyard, though an adjoining door can also be opened if you wish to book the whole house as a larger group booking. Please book both The Terrace and The Courtyard to secure the whole house booking. We have 2 very friendly little dogs living with us, Tilly and Tana, who love keeping an eye on the magpies, and the next door neighbours (Website hidden by Airbnb) you might hear them doing their job, by looking after the property, and barking from time to time... but we will try to keep it to a minimum. Access to "The Terrace" is via the long ramp (opposite the car park), down to the front door. there are 5 other ranch-sliding doors that open out to the very large, sun-drenched terrace. All windows/doors have fly screens on them for added comfort. There is a locked door that connects through to the other suite called "The Courtyard". If a booking has been made for both suites for larger groups/families etc. the door will be unlocked and left open upon arrival. All lawn areas of the property are considered common areas for all guests to explore and enjoy. Approx. distances from each front door of all properties on site (Metres): The Terrace to The Courtyard: 20m The Terrace to The Bungalow: 60m The Courtyard to The Bungalow: 50m Owners House to The Terrace: 80m Owners House to The Courtyard: 70m Owners House to The Bungalow: 30m Whilst there is no designated reception area, the hosts, Greg and Carrie, live on the 6 acre property and can be reached at all times via phone or text, or in emergencies, can be found at their house at the end of the drive way. The property is only a couple of kilometres from the historic National Trust village of Central Tilba, River Cottage Australia, and the scenic beaches of Mystery Bay which can be accessed by either a short drive, cycle or a relaxing walk. More information: Arrival/Departure Times: Check in time is from 2pm to 9pm. On arrival there will be signage on parking and room location. Check out time is by 10am. Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors, you may smoke outside using ashtrays. We also must insist on doors/windows being closed when smoking, so smoke does not go inside any rooms. Fire pit: The fire pit/chiminea is a seasonal addition to The Terrace suite. A suitable quantity of wood is provided at the wood shed and extreme care is required when lighting and maintaining a fire. The fire must be attended/supervised at all times, and must be fully extinguished at the end of the evening or when guests vacate the property. Extreme care is required when it is windy, and observance of NSW fire bans are essential. Responsibility for loss or damage: You are financially responsible for any loss or damage caused to any rooms and its contents (normal wear and tear excluded) by you during your stay. No responsibility is taken for guests’ personal belongings on the property, including damage to vehicles and other personal property from falling branches and trees. Children Supervision: Please note, Tilba Coastal Retreat is available for adults only. However, if children are on the property at any given time, they must be supervised at all times. The safety of all children remains the sole responsibility of their parent/guardians. Please note, there are electric fences surrounding the property. Pets not permitted: Due to the rural location and farm animals on either side of our property, for the safety of all we do not allow pets to stay at TCR. House Rules: All guests must respect the right of any other guests to experience a safe, clean, tidy, relaxing environment throughout their stay. All guests are asked to keep volumes of TV, radio, music and other activities at a reasonable level at all times. Please drive slowly at all times on the property, there are animals about. To help keep our septic functional: Scrape all food scraps into the garbage bin before washing up Do not dispose of any items other than toilet paper in toilets. BBQ facilities: Guests in “The Courtyard” and “The Terrace” each have access to a BBQ to prepare meals There are utensils provided in the kitchen drawers, and we ask that the BBQ is cleaned, and turn the gas bottle off after use. Water: Filtered tank water for drinking, cooking, coffee/tea making, washing up, and showers. If you ever experience no hot water, it just means the gas bottle is empty, please get in touch for us to change it over immediately. Hazards: TCR has areas of steep slopes, large trees, dams and holes. Guests are urged to take precautions when walking around the grounds and to use one of the torches provided if out and about on the property at night. There are electric and barbed wire fences surrounding the property, to prevent shocks, please do not touch any fence wires. Please be careful of falling branches from trees after we have had rain/wind. There is also a risk of snakes, ticks, spiders and other insects. First aid kits are provided in each room. Mosquitoes are abundant in warmer months. Prevent insects and wildlife entering buildings by keeping doors and windows without screens closed and using screens where available. Personal repellent spray is provided in each room. Telephone and Wi-Fi: Mobile reception can be unreliable, Telstra is the best provider for the area, followed by Optus, whilst Vodafone has fairly poor coverage in the Tilba region. Wi-Fi is available on the property, but is not streaming quality, and we can't guarantee service at all times. TCR reserves the right to reject booking requests.
