Large En-suite Bedroom in 17C Thatched Cottage

Our 17th century 'chocolate box' cottage is located in the picturesque village of East Knoyle which is 5 miles from the hilltop town of Shaftesbury. The large double bedroom has a kingsize bed and is equipped with a dressing table, fitted wardrobe and a chest of drawers which will provide excellent storage for your stay. Crisp 100% Egyptian cotton bedding, a mattress topper, Siberian feather pillows ensure ultimate luxury and a good nights sleep. Fluffy white towels are provided for you along with luxury waffle dressing gowns and slippers (slippers can be taken home). The bathroom has a heated towel rail which ensures that your towels are lovely and warm. Locally sourced Bramley handmade natural organic body and bath products are provided for your use. A TV, Bose radio and a Bose docking station is provided in the room for your use during your stay. A selection of Clipper organic tea (herbal, regular and decaffeinated), coffee (filter and instant) and organic hot chocolate is provided for you. Fresh milk is also provided. Please let us know if you have any special requests. Room only however, when the weather is warm, guests are welcome to use garden and the summer house to relax . There is a patio table and chairs in the courtyard as well as a table and chairs under the cherry tree in the garden. I will be available to answer any questions during your stay and will be at home for both your arrival and departure. East Knoyle is the birthplace of Sir Christopher Wren; his father was Rector of the village church. There are a number of notable places to visit which are only a short distance away; Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Longleat Safari Park to name a few. There is a lovely pub in the village which serves great food and is within walking distance (1/4 mile). There are other pubs in the surrounding villages which also offer good food though you will need to either drive there or take a taxi. There is no public transport in the village. A continental breakfast is included; this includes homemade preserves, pastries, fresh seasonal fruits etc. A cooked breakfast can also be provided for an additional charge of £10pp. We source locally produced bacon and use our own free range eggs. Please note that that due to the characteristics of the cottage, there are sloping ceilings on both the landing outside the bedroom as well as in the bedroom adjacent to the bed. No smoking please!
