Our cosy guest cottage is situated in the Brecon Beacons in the quite village of Ponsticill, making it the perfect place for walkers and cyclists alike (bikes being available to hire at one of the local pubs) Brecon Mountain Railway is just minutes away and can be viewed from the comfort of the well appointed patio area that catches the sun from first light. Great home cooked food served at both pubs in the village that offer all a warm welcome. Perfect for a complete get away from it all! Set in a secluded area adjacent to the owners home, the guest house enjoys spectacular unspoilt views of The Brecon Beacons, being 3 miles from the historic town of Merthyr Tydfil with its numerous visitor attractions whilst being close enough to the towns of Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny to enjoy an easy commute of less than 30 minutes. Pencerrig Isaf has a large patio area overlooking the surrounding countryside with private parking for up to two cars. Our home is just next door at a slightly elevated position, we can be on hand or as distant as required! Ponsticill is a village well practised in welcoming guests from all over the world that join us for the wonderful scenery and surrounding walks. if there is a negative...and that's open for debate if you're looking for a real escape..mobile signal in the village is extremely poor and can be frustrating if you need to make a call. You will need a car to visit our guest house due to its remote setting. Once here glorious walks are on your door step, with The Brecon Gap, Penyfan and Bike Park Wales all within 5 miles. We are also able to arrange walking tours, caving or gorge walking with a qualified guide who lives within the village if you feel you'd like a little more support, or the fabulous Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer Activity centre for numerous outdoor activities and entertainment. The Wonderfull waterfalls of Aberdulais and Ystradfellte are only 20 mins drive with the award winning Gower Peninsula a little further but accessible in under an hour. Cardiff City Centre is 30mins by car, oe and hour bus bus or train leaving Merthyr Tydfil town Centre every 15 mins. We have two great local pubs The Red Cow and The Butchers Arms serving some great pub grub and craft beers.
