A private & secure 2br end apartment, recently renovated with new bathroom, split-system air conditioners, fans, bedroom flooring, furniture, linen, appliances & kitchenware. It has a fully equipped kitchen & laundry, undercover parking, shady pool & lots of books, games, jigsaws & Lego. Enjoy tropical Queens Gardens opposite, or hike nearby tracks up Castle Hill. An easy 5 min walk to the Gregory St shops, cafes, bars & Strand beaches, a 10 min walk to the city, & a 20 min walk to the Stadium. The short version: Here’s the essential checklist if you’re coming to North Queensland: ensure your accommodation ticks all of these boxes, or you’ll be wishing you’d stayed at Serenity... ✅ near the Strand: simply the best place to stay in TSV ✅ new split-system aircon throughout: non-negotiable! ✅ Covid-safe: 5-star cleanliness rating, airy, no shared spaces ✅ new Sealy Harmony Pilllow Top mattresses: sleep easy ✅ flexibility: early 8am check-in, and late check-out often possible ✅ shady swimming pool: not shady = not cool ✅ close undercover parking: avoid hot car ovens ✅ heaps of quality eateries within walking distance ✅ dishwasher: washing up on holiday? No way! ✅ internal laundry: easy overnight washing, La Niña or no La Niña ✅ easy self check-in: no waiting around in the heat ✅ 5-star reviews: life’s too short for dodgy accom ✅ problem-free wifi ✅ shady park right across the road ✅ patrolled beaches & pools just down the road ✅ range of leisure options nearby ✅ supermarket, shops, doctor, pharmacy nearby for emergencies ✅ space for everyone to spread out a bit ✅ 2x bikes + boardgames, jigsaws, Lego & books for all ✅ Superhost nearby to assist if anything goes wrong ✅ affordable: more $ for fun times ___ The longer version: With 100% 5-star reviews and 94% occupancy since opening in April 2020, this apartment is popular - book early if you can. All guests must be respectful of the noise expectations of the mostly owner-occupier residents in other apartments. Schoolies and rowdy groups are not suitable for this apartment. With unlimited Wifi, this well-designed 112m² apartment is in a small block in a popular, safe and convenient location and has easy self check-in from 8am (earlier than most places, so you can get started with your holiday sooner). The apartment has leafy outlooks on three sides, and there is a shady pool at the rear of the property. It’s just a walk to the best of everything Townsville has to offer: the Strand waterfront, Castle Hill, city, stadium, museums, casino, aquarium, art galleries, parks, pools and sporting facilities. Also only a 5 minute walk away are a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, bottle shops, butcher, newsagency, fashion boutiques and a range of great places to eat. Apart from being fully equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay, this apartment is so popular because of the range of outdoor spaces at your doorstep: 1. Queens Gardens is a beautiful park right across the road from the apartment. It hosts historic botanical gardens with tropical rainforest trails, hedge mazes, aviary, new rose garden, herb garden, playground and plenty of space for ball games, picnics, tree climbing, butterfly spotting, birdwatching and quiet nooks to relax in. Occasionally Queens Gardens hosts some of Townsville’s best events, including Shakespeare Under the Stars, EcoFiesta, HALO (Townsville’s version of Sydney’s Vivid) and Australian Festival of Chamber Music concerts. 2. The apartment is at the base of Castle Hill - Townsville’s iconic landmark, just a few metres short of meeting the definition of a mountain. You can drive to the spectacular lookouts at the top, but hike like the locals if you can, on any of the many bush tracks that wind their way up and around the hill. If you’re lucky you’ll spot native wildlife including wallabies, echidnas, goannas, lizards and numerous birds, butterflies and bugs. Easy directions to some of the best tracks are provided in the apartment. 3. The magnificent Strand is an easy 8 minute walk away. This 3 kilometre waterfront has something for everyone: spectacular running and walking paths, outdoor fitness gyms, public art trails, free gas barbecues, fishing platforms, playgrounds, lifeguard-patrolled ocean swimming, the Waterpark, Rockpool and historic Tobruk swimming pool. A range of cafes, restaurants and bars dot the length of the Strand. If you’re super keen, you can extend your Strand adventure and follow the Jezzine Barracks boardwalk past the mangroves onto the 8 kilometre Rowes Bay to Pallarenda coastal cycling/walking track - if you’re lucky you might spot a green sea turtle or dugong! 4. It’s just a 20 minute walk (10 minute scooter, or short drive) to the Magnetic Island ferry terminal. Get an early start and with the 20 minute ferry trip you can easily experience the best of Maggie in a day trip. I can customise itineraries to suit your interests and fitness - as active or relaxed as you like, with bush tracks to secluded beaches, wild koala spotting almost guaranteed on the historic Forts Walk, safe and spectacular swimming spots, a range of watersports at Horseshoe Bay, and great cafes, bars and restaurants all easily accessible. With plenty of storage space, this apartment is perfect for short, medium or long stays for singles, couples, professionals, families and small groups. The bedding setup is deliberately flexible, and will be adapted to suit your booking. There is a quality queen bed in each bedroom (Sealy Harmony Pillow Top mattresses, purchased April 2021). Also available are two foldaway singles for the bedrooms, and a double sofa bed in the living room. Refer to the photo showing the 10 bedding options, and advise which one suits you when you book - it will be ready for you when you arrive. All of the beds have beautiful Jocelyn Proust bed covers profiling Australian birds and flora. The bookshelves have a range of books, games, jigsaws and Lego. There are two Trek bicycles for you to use, ideal for 8-13 year olds - the red one is acceptable for a small adult. There are pool noodles, boogie boards, balls and frisbees in the storeroom. There are also tennis racquets/balls for you to use - nearby courts are easy to hire. Mambo beach towels, a picnic rug and four portable chairs are also provided. Parking: there is a dedicated undercover carpark, an additional off-street parking spot, and plenty of free street parking. Stairs: There are 12 stairs to the apartment. There is no lift in the building. Tea & coffee: There is a Delonghi Dedica espresso machine and an initial supply of ground coffee. There is a teapot and a range of Chinese leaf teas and Twinings teabags. Young children: There is a portable cot with fitted sheet and a highchair. Please let me know before you arrive if you need these. My children, aged 15 and 17, live nearby and are available for babysitting. Please ask for details. Coles Click & Collect: Where possible, I am happy to collect your pre-ordered groceries from the North Ward Coles, either the day of, or day before your arrival, and put them in the fridge and pantry. This is helpful for people arriving late at night or for those wanting some essentials when they arrive. Choose the bag-free option and I will use reusable bags from the apartment.
