Villa Maria, a fairy tale house in Alsace

Welcome to Villa Maria, our fairy tale guest house in a calm location next to the forest and with a vast garden in the village Lauterbourg in Northern Alsace, France. It's just 5 min by foot to the heart of the village with bakeries, restaurants, a grocery store and small shops, or 10 min to the beach & lake. It's only 2 min by car from Germany, and a perfect location for a rest on the way South or North when travelling across Europe. The house is about 140 sqm. with two separate bedrooms on the bottom floor with a bathroom and a small sauna. On the first floor, there is a kitchen, toilet, living room, dining room and both a covered (15 sqm) and uncovered (15 sqm) terrace. In the attic there is a sleeping loft (for 6 people), with a toilet. You have free wifi-access to high-speed internet, large screen TV, Apple TV, Alexa and access to a vast garden for relaxing, a BBQ or playing games. Other things to note You have access to the complete house. We are only renting out the entire house to a single group. However, we are also renting out a smaller Guest House next to Villa Maria, and there is a shared parking, and parts of the vast garden is also shared. We live in the white house not far from Villa Maria. Please feel free to come over if you have any questions, or just want to say hello. :) Lauterbourg is a small town (2,200 people), in Northern Alsace, 2 min by car from the border to Germany. Villa Maria is one of the oldest remaining houses in town, built in 1912 and survived both world wars. It's located on a rather large private property, next to the forest and about 10 min by foot to the popular beach and lake. We have a smaller guest house next to it that we also rent out on Airbnb (look for a Zen Guest House in Lauterbourg), and if you are a larger group you may rent both houses together (in total space for about 16 people). The train station is about 15 min by foot (nice walk through the forest). We also have a few bikes in the garage that a friend of us has put there for you to stay as environmentally friendly as possible (take the bike instead of the car to go to the lake, bakery or restaurant ;-). Dogs and other (smaller ;-) pets are also welcome to Villa Maria. This may cause some inconvenience to guests with severe allergies, but we are doing our best to ensure everything is as clean as possible after each visit and there is therefore an extra charge. Please include one extra guest in the booking, if you bring your pet. Please also note that it is strictly prohibited to smoke in Villa Maria or in the winter garden. Smoking outdoors is fine, but you need to put all your cigarette butts into the bin, and not on the ground. To save the old floors in the Villa, there is also a strict no shoes policy. We have unfortunately had guests that have not respected these House Rules, and there is therefore a 100€ penalty if any of the house rules is not followed. Please also note that we are renting out a smaller Guest House, also on Airbnb, next to Villa Maria, and the vast garden is partly shared between the two houses. Sometimes we are also in the greenhouse behind Villa Maria to take care of our vegetables.
