Comfortable, Simple Travellers Haven with Brekky

Stripped-down, clean space for weary travelers. 25 minutes to Toowoomba & less than 40 minutes to Warwick. Centrally located for Darling Downs business people or commuters. Evenings we relax with our dog, cat, and chickens. You have the first floor of the house, with access to laundry. The space is simple, accessible, comfortable & an easy walking distance to Rudd's Pub, Sister Kenny's Museum & the Nobby Store. We’re happy to chat or leave you in peace. You choose. This is a split level, we currently enter through the first floor. We walk through your sitting area which is partioned off from the bed area. Noise is minimal on the ground floor. Most of our daily activities occur on the mid-level which is adjacent to your floor (not over), we are early risers so some activity may be heard. You have access to an outdoor sitting area and bbq if you wish to use it (we charge a cleaning fee if you’re untidy). We have a strict no smoking policy-I'm allergic and asthmatic. We have an aircon and a fireplace on the mid-level. The 1st floor is the coolest in the summer and gets a lovely cross breeze. We have electric blankets for the beds in the winter. Breakfast options are eggs, toast, oatmeal, seasonal fruit, tea, and Australian grown coffee. If we are not home the first floor is set up as a studio, private bathroom, toilet, and sitting area with partitioned beds. The queen bed is the most private but shares the space with the double bed. This is a family-style hotel room with an open feel. When we are home guests are welcome to visit by our fire, peruse our extensive library, join us at the breakfast table, partake in BBQs, feed the chickens, wander the backyard, pet the cat, greet the dog and use the clothesline. We are world travelers and happy to visit if time allows. We also have busy lives and understand the need for privacy. Indicate your wishes if you would like to be left alone. If you have laundry we will instruct you how to correctly use our washer while we are here, understanding that we are on strict water restrictions. Only the far upstairs is entirely off-limits when we are home. At night for guests' absolute privacy we will lock off the mid-level floor. We keep regular hours and rarely are up past 9 pm on school nights. There is a T.V. and VCR player in the guest sitting room. We can be available Friday-Monday, Tuesday-Thursday late afternoons and early mornings. Nobby is famous for Steele Rudd and Sister Kenny. Rudds Pub is a local institution, the meals are affordable and excellent. Sister Kenny is credited worldwide as being the founder of Physical Therapy. Her methods cured polio patients thorough out the globe. In the United States for a decade she was second only to the First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt for fame. Nobby Shop is great for coffee, snacks, sandwiches, all the local gossip and a paper if you must. The park has a great BBQ area right across from the shop. Darling Downs Zoos less than 15 minutes away, a privately owned and family operated zoo it houses some incredibly rare species. Their collection has Tapirs, Miniature Hippos and the Sri Lankan Leopard. Nobby also has some interesting and unusual architecture. You can safely walk the entire village day or night. Just make certain you get out of the middle of the road if a car comes. Other than a bit of exercise you’ll need a vehicle to get around. Nobby is a quiet lovely village with friendly people, but it isn’t near public transport. We have an 8 year old who is interested in all things. Expect some questions and some cheerful assistance from your youngest host. Our dog sleeps upstairs inside and occasionally needs to go out in the middle of the night. We are quiet and respectful, likely you won’t hear us.
