Hinterland Garden Cottage in Fernleigh
Tranquil garden cottage. Short drive from the historic village of Newrybar, 15min from Bangalow and Lennox Head's beaches and just 25min to Byron Bay. We are Pet friendly! Open plan living, modern kitchen and a unique bathroom, all with large windows that bring the outdoors in. A covered deck deck bathes in sunshine + looks across the garden you share with rescue hens who lay fresh eggs for breakfast! Doors open directly from the bedroom to a 2nd deck shaded by the canopy of a Poinciana tree People fall in love with our home, with its Moroccan accents and in its idilic hinterland setting. Hens roam free in the garden flanked my native flora. As well as your own cottage, you have two private decks and full access to the gardens. We generally pop down to the garden at dawn and dusk to feed the chickens or pick some fruit and veg... but for most of the time you'll be looking out at the garden uninterrupted :) We live in the main house on the property and one of us is often home. We are relaxed and easygoing hosts: Here to help with anything at all but will always respect your privacy. It's totally up to you! We don't see some of our guests for the entirety of their stay. Or on the other hand we're happy to chat and point you in the right direction. If you enjoy a run, I'm very happy to accompany you (or give you a lift to Parkrun if its a Saturday)! Fernleigh is in the Hinterland 15 minutes from Lennox Head, and 25K's south of Byron Bay. The General Store at Tintenbar is a 5 minute drive for local goods and essentials including a bottle shop and fuel. Also 5 minutes away on Fernleigh Road is "Australia’s most Awarded boutique lifestyle pamper Retreat", GAIA. Owned by Olivia Newton- John. Harvest, 7 minutes away, in Newrybar offers fine dining in its restaurant, a historic bakery and a delicatessen focusing on sustainability, local and seasonally prepared food. 15 minutes to Bangalow with boutique stores, cafes and restaurants. ...and 15 minutes to Lennox Head which boasts kilometres of beaches, stunning headlands, dog beaches, world class surf breaks, a hotel, cafes and a great family Italian (Quattro) among other restaurants. You can walk/ run on a mix of beach, path and track all the way from Broken Head to Ballina. We are about 7 minutes from the motorway, less than 20 minutes from Ballina Byron Airport and under 1 hour from the Gold Coast. The cottage has its own seperate NBN connection making it the perfect spot to ‘work from home’.
