Ryvoan: Private room with en-suite & own entrance
Ryvoan is a private double room with a spacious en-suite. The room is in an annexe to the house with its own entrance. The accommodation is in our new, modern home - built by R-House from the Isle of Skye. The room features a double bed with a firm comfortable mattress, timber furnishings, oak flooring, a large tiled shower and views to the woodland behind the house. Off-road parking is available for guests on the driveway in front of our house. In terms of aesthetics there is a Scandinavian theme to the space. For internal comfort, the home is highly energy efficient. The house is airtight, very well insulated, and fitted with a Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery system. This system constantly swaps air already inside the building with fresh (filtered) air from outside. By transferring heat from air going out to air coming in, it keeps the heat in the building for longer - reducing central heating use. Private access for guests at the rear of the property. Guests have their own internal space, locked off and separate from our part of the home. The external decking at the rear is shared. Parking is shared on the drive between three cars (including one space for guests). If you have any issues we will of course be happy to help, however, we will normally leave you to your own devices. Auldearn is a tranquil village located just off the A96 near Nairn. There is a Tavern (Pub) in the village called 1645 within a 10min walk. Nearby we have Boath House - a luxury country house, well renowned for its fine dining. There is a walled garden in the grounds of Boath House where the Kale Yard is situated - here you can get a wood fired pizza and other delicious food to enjoy with fine wine. It's also open for lunch/cakes/tea and there's a wee shop that's worth a look around. We highly recommend The Kale Yard. Check the opening times online before you go. Our location is ideally situated as a base for access (by car) to the Cairngorm National Park via Grantown-on-Spey (30min South), The Malt Whisky Trail in Morayshire (30min East), The City of Inverness (35min West), a visit to the beautiful Cawdor Castle (15min West), and excursions to other historical sites of interest such as Culloden Battlefield (30min West). For those that are keen cyclists there are many quiet lanes near the village that are ideal for road cycling and we are very close to National Cycle Route 1 (NCR1). By car: Nairn - 5 min, Inverness Airport - 20 min, Inverness City - 35 min. By bus: #10, Aberdeen (3 hrs) - Auldearn - Inverness (40 min), Elgin (35 min), Inverness (55 min). Red squirrels frequent the woodland at the back of the garden. There is a path through this woodland that is excellent for a quiet stroll (turn left) or a shortcut to the pub/village centre (turn right). Facilities for tea and coffee are provided. There is a mini fridge.
