Mellow, charming, close to the Inner City

My house offers you a spacious double bedroom, with a private bathroom adjacent, in a quiet area close to central Auckland. It's welcoming, sunny, comfortable, with things guests love, gathered on my travels. Grey Lynn/Westmere is a laid-back, diverse neighbourhood. The local village offers cafes, relaxed bars, funky shops, an organic mini-market and great bookstore. A supermarket and deli are nearby. It's an easy walk to Ponsonby Rd's lively scene and a 12 minute bus ride to the inner city. My two-storeyed home is perfect for visitors. Your bedroom and bathroom are downstairs, while mine are upstairs. Access to the kitchen and living room is also downstairs if you want to make a coffee or tea. The living room is spacious and warm,looking out on the garden. Sit outside with a glass of wine or your morning coffee and enjoy the birds! Guests can use the kitchen to make tea and coffee or pop a bottle of wine in the fridge. Occasional cooking on the stove top is fine by prior arrangement. I have Wi-Fi and guests are welcome to work at the table in the living room. An outside table with umbrella offers a peaceful place to read or work. I like to welcome guests personally if I'm able to, and if my working hours permit. I know NZ well, having been a tour guide at one time, so enjoy helping people with their travel plans if they want this. I speak a little bit of Bahasa Malaysia and some schoolgirl French - and a little te reo Maori. I love living in Auckland and I love my 'hood! It's a quiet area, but diverse, with Pasifika peoples living nearby. There are few pretensions and a funky style. Great amenities include Coxes Bay Park for runs or walks and the West Lynn shops - good cafes for breakfast and small neighbourhood bars for a drink and maybe some chat with locals at the end of the day. Parking is easy and safe on the street. There's a bus stop just two minutes walk away. Buses leave every 15 mins or so and go up to Ponsonby Rd (5 mins) and into the central city.
