Luxurious and romantic, spacious holiday cottage in South Devon's rolling countryside. Excellent links to Exeter (15 miles) Dartmoor (8 miles) and the coast (4 miles) If you are looking for a quiet and romantic break, then really don’t look any further. If you’re looking for long country walks and great country pubs. We have them. Now with a new outside sitting area, under a new pergola. Gas fired BBQ. Plus easy reach of the Dartmoor National Park, beautiful sandy beaches and Torquay marina. Daisy Wheels has been converted from an old barn into a luxurious holiday cottage. The historical 'daisy wheels' have been preserved in the master bedroom and are Listed as Grade 2 with English Heritage. We have sensitively developed this barn into a spacious 1 bedroom cottage, complete with a fully fitted kitchen: integrated fridge (and freezer compartment), dishwasher, oven, microwave and a coffee machine with complimentary coffee capsules. The open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room has a woodburner with a first pack of complimentary logs and kindling for you to enjoy a cosy evening in. Don’t worry if you run out as you can purchase an extra bundle of logs from us for £3. Upstairs, the bespoke staircase rises to the huge master en suite bedroom with our humongous copper bath. Be patient when filling the bath, as it is so big- it can take 15 mins to fill! Whilst waiting, the Super King sized four poster is a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the country views. We have a dressing table, with hair drier and some fantastic bed side tables, which we made from some milk churns. The en suite shower room has a larger walk in shower with a 12 inch shower head and of course a copper basin which was once a jam making pot in France, before we adapted it be used as a basin. The house which dates back to the late 13th Century sits within just over 2 acres of private grounds, which our guests are more than welcome to walk over and enjoy the paddocks, cider orchard and rocky outcrops. The view from the top of the hill is fantastic. Our grounds of 2 acres can be enjoyed with guests particularly enjoying the views from our own mini Dartmoor. From here, a perfect picnic can be enjoyed, watching the last of the sun setting over the hills to the West. We look forward to welcoming you to our cottage, we are only a door away, as our home is next door. We live in a very peaceful and quite rural hamlet in South Devon, yet with easy access to the road networks. Two very good pubs are within walking distances, The Royal Oak in 0.9 miles and The Elizabethan in 1.8 miles. There are plenty of enjoyable walks in the area, our favourite being along a stream, through the woodland to The Elizabethan pub. Very near the A380 dual carriageway. Public bus stop less than 1 mile and a mainline train station, 5.5 miles. The local pub, The Royal Oak (0.9 miles away) is a cash only pub, so bring some cash if you want to eat or drink there. Great beer and hearty food. The Elizabethan pub at Luton (2 miles away) is a great dining pub. Cards are fine here. Obviously Torquay and Exeter has a plethora of options, both only 10-15 miles away. Enjoy.
