Pōhue PurePod - luxurious glass eco-cabin

Situated just over an hour from Christchurch, your private glass cabin boasts gorgeous views of the historic Port Levy Bay and is enveloped by rolling hills and rocky outcrops. Pōhue PurePod is designed to ensure you experience nature's show vividly. Better still, your PurePod is luxurious, warm and immaculately styled. After parking your car, you will follow the walking track through regenerating native bush until your private oasis comes into view. Nestled below macrocarpa trees, your glass eco-cabin offers sweeping vistas across verdant plains and rolling hills down to the sheltered bay of Port Levy. Relax on the deck and taking in your magnificent outlook, or snuggle up in the luxurious bed reading a book and catching a shooting star through the glass roof. With nothing but glass to separate you from Mother Nature, you will feel completely at ease. The privacy, the isolation of a tiny glass hut completely surrounded by nature – the sky, the hills, the sea, the birds, the bush – takes you to another world. Please note, the walk from the secure carpark to the Pōhue PurePod is 1.2km uphill and will take you around 25 minutes. Because we are providing privacy and isolation in a spectacular space - you are on your own. There is a 20-30 minute (depending how many times you stop to take photos of the views!) walk through regenerating native bush to find the PurePod. If you are feeling a little more active, take a short walk across to the Acropolis rocky outcrop and watch the sunset or for the more active take advantage of the many nearby Banks Peninsula hiking trails. If you are staying for a couple of nights, then perhaps head across to Akaroa to swim with the dolphins or go sea kayaking before returning to the PurePod in the afternoon to relax and take in the views. Your journey to the Pōhue PurePod starts with a scenic drive around Banks Peninsula past Charteris Bay and Diamond Harbour, then up over hill above Purau, before turning off the main road into the secure carparking area. If you prefer not to self-drive, let us know and we can put you in contact with a private driver who provides a door-to-door service as well as additional sightseeing options. PurePods is designed as a place to relax and re-connect. It is purposely isolated but there are walks around the property to allow you to explore the natural setting. Stretch out on the deck or in the shade nearby and enjoy a complete absence of people and traffic.
