Tunisian Room: Old convent of the medina
This room is part of an old convent built more than a 100 years ago in the heart of downtown, and actually in the city of Bab Souika. The convent has 6 independent rooms, 3 shared shower rooms with toilets, 2 kitchens, 3 living rooms, an office and an old chapel. The convent has a big, luxurious and beautiful garden that offers peace, shade, freshness and, and… and fruits and vegetables for the guests, a terrific terrace where you overlook the whole medina A fully equipped kitchen is made available for our guests with high quality tea and coffee from Ethiopia, other foods and beverages for a nice and healthy breakfast The convent is convenient for both smokers and non smokers. alongside with their beautiful and comfy room, our guests will have access to: - needless to say, to shower rooms, - our Tunisian living room, where people can meet and talk - our cozy corner for our enchanting vinyl collection and reading from our wide variety of books, - our oriental living room, where we have a lot of games to play (Trivial pursuit, barricades, citadelles, dominoes (with onion ring), timeline, Yahtzee... and we will be playing as well - the kitchens will be made available as well, we won't let you starve you know... - Our terrace where you can go star gazing or just contemplate the medina - and and and the garden, the beautiful garden We are a belgo-tunisian couple in their thirties having all the secrets of the Medina unveiled. We have the best advices for all the best places to visit and for where to eat in fancy or non fancy restaurants, let’s face it, we eat everywhere food is tasty. Interested in Cinema, Music (arts in general) ,Permaculture, freedom, and nature in general, we'll have nice talks together the neighborhood is quiet and nice, a Swiss couple on your left, a Tunisian diplomat and cool people all around. No evident noise can be heard except some people talking in the streets sometimes, no cars pass by and it is a wonderful old Tunisian narrow street The house is located a 100 meters away from the main road of Bab Saadoun where taxis are available. Easy access to tram stations, bus stations (10 minutes walk). In the heart of downtown, souks, fripe-prix and artisans are less than 5 minutes walk and easy to find. Monuments and historic cities easily accessible and less than 30 minutes ride for most of them and cost les than 3euros by taxi (Sidi Bou Said, Carthage, Lagoulette, Bardo…) We have bikes made available for our guests, it will make your tour in the medina more pleasant and less tiring
