Η Ροδιά είναι ένα γραφικό παραδοσιακό χωριό της Κρήτης, φημισμένο για την εξαιρετική θέα και το νόστιμο φαγητό στις παραδοσιακές ταβέρνες του, υπάρχει σούπερ μάρκετ, βενζινάδικο, φούρνος, φαρμακείο, καφετέρια. Κοντά υπάρχουν πολλές παραλίες όπως: Παντάνασσα 4 χλμ. Παλαιόκαστρο 5,5 χλμ. Λυγαριά 10 χλμ. Αγία Πελαγία 12 χλμ. Αμμουδάρα 9 χλμ The village "Rodia" Ιn the most prominent position on the western side of Heraklion, dominates imposing a historical village of Crete, the village Rodia! This picturesque village located 18km northwest of Heraklion city is also called the "Balcony of Heraklion" because of the great sea views that it offers to its residents and visitors! It is very easy to walk around its streets and squares and there you can find all the basics during your stay at the villa such as mini market, bakery, gas station, pharmacy and lots of cafes "kafeneion, as the locals call it" and taverns! In the village you can visit the Venetian villa! The Kallegis family of Byzantine origin, who had this house built in the 16th century must have been very wealthy! Alongside it stands a church dating from the same period, although we do now the exact origins of the church! You can’t look inside the villa, which has been fitted with new doors and window frames, but it’s interesting to see the adjacent church and various buildings around!
