"The Stables" Spacious 2-bed Countryside Retreat

Beautiful hamstone stable in a quiet farm courtyard setting between the market towns of Yeovil an Sherborne. The Stables have been sympathetically converted maintaining many of the original features.. Over Compton is within 45 minutes drive of the Dorset Coast and historical towns such as Bath and Dorchester The property is approached from the old farmyard which has ample parking. The main entrance is on the ground floor from the fenced off patio. The ground floor is open plan which includes a lounge /dining area and kitchen. The kitchen and lounge dining area are separated by the staircase case leading to the first floor and stabling partition which has been modelled on the original horse “loose box”. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine /dryer and tea/ coffee making facilities. The lounge /diner has a four-seat farmhouse style table, a high-chair is also available. For cosy nights in there are comfortable three-seater and two-seater sofas and a Smart TV/DVD with Wi-Fi. The lounge /dining area has patio doors leading to the patio area which has a table and four chairs with a parasol. A barbeque is available on request. The ground floor also contains a boot cupboard under the staircase and separate W.C /washroom which also houses the thermal store. The thermal store supplies the hot water and underfloor heating which makes the Stables exceptionally cosy in the winter months. The thermal store is supplied by the farm’s biomass boiler. The first floor has two bedrooms with Zip & Link beds and a bathroom. The original roof trusses are incorporated into the high vaulted ceilings to add to the character. All the rooms have Velux windows in the roof overlooking the courtyard The main bedroom has a King size double bed which can be made up as two singles on request. There is also a pull-out bed available if required. The bedroom has a flying mullion window in the west gable overlooking the local lanes and farmhouse garden. The second Bedroom has two singles which can also be made up as a double on request. The second bedroom also has an addittional access from the external stone staircase. The bathroom consists of a Toilet, Wash Basin Bath /Shower and heated towel rail. Guests are allowed to access the fields on the farm. They can help themselves to the herb garden and when available, the vegetable garden. Your hosts live next door in the Farmhouse and are normally available at anytime
