Pretty cosy cottage, sea views, walk to the beach
‘Little Bream' is a beautiful fully furnished and equipped cosy barn cottage (sleeps 3) in the quiet hamlet of Meudon between Falmouth and the Helford River, within walking distance of Mawnan Smith, several beaches including Maenporth, a pub, cafes and restaurants. 10 minutes drive into Falmouth and also to the Helford River. Little Bream has a sea view from the bedroom, a garden/BBQ area and is set in 1.5 acres of garden. We are very close to the South West Coast Path so fabulous for walking Little Bream is a two storey semi detached cottage which was built in 2016, attached to our house but with its own separate entrance. It comprises an open plan fully fitted kitchen, dining and lounge with stairs up to large bedroom with super king size bed, open plan luxury shower and separate WC. The lounge has an armchair and a comfy sofa-bed. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, smart TV, books and games. The dining area has a table and chairs for cosy evenings in. As well as underfloor heating, there is also a woodburning effect electric fire to keep it cosy on autumn/winter evenings. The shaker style kitchen is fully fitted with granite worktops, ceramic hob, fan oven with grill, extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and food processor. There is also a laundry rack, ironing board and iron. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need. Stairs take you up to the large open plan bedroom. Please note there is no door separating the downstairs from the upstairs, but there is a door to the WC! There is a huge luxury power shower, towel rail, basin and mirror. The whole house has a douglas fir wooden frame which adds much character to this newly built barn conversion. There are two large Velux windows with blackout blinds, one of which has a beautiful sea view. Little Bream has two areas for sitting out; a table and chairs to enjoy breakfast al fresco looking over the lawn to the east, and on the other side of the barn a gravelled area with BBQ, as well as a small table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine whilst the sun sets to the west. There is a dedicated car parking space for 'Little Bream'. We are eco friendly with an air source heat pump providing underfloor heating and plenty of hot water, and we have our own sewage treatment plant. Please note that when we have clicked yes to 'Air Con' it is a mechanical ventilation heat recovery system. Towels, bedding and T towels are all included. Please bring your own beach towels. When you book Little Bream, you will have sole access to it. Please note that there are 3 other AirBnB units on the property, the guests of Bream Barn have to walk passed Little Bream (complete privacy possible though thanks to blinds and curtains) to access Bream Barn. Little Bream is attached to our house, Meudon Barn, but has a completely separate entrance. There are locked interconnecting doors between Little Bream and Meudon Barn, which are fully insulated with double doors to reduce any noise between the two properties. We live here in Meudon Barn, but unless you need anything, we leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace! We are around should you need anything though! Meudon is a small hamlet consisting of a small dairy farm, a few pretty cottages, and two hotels. Our most famous residents are Arthur, Avis, Maureen and Mavis, our beautiful peacocks who roam around the hamlet. We also have a dairy farm just up the road. Within ten minutes walk is the pretty village of Mawnan Smith with its thatched pub, fantastic Spanish Tapas restaurant, fabulous cafe 'The Cornish Maid', and two shops. Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens are both within 5 mins drive from 'Little Bream', just beyond the pretty village of Mawnan Smith with its lovely thatched pub, great village shop and superb cafe 'Awna'. In the opposite direction is Maenporth beach, with its award winning restaurant 'The Cove', beach cafe, watersports rentals, and beautiful sandy beach. We are also 10-15 minutes walk from Bream Cove, our little secret, so shhhhh don't tell everyone! A simply beautiful place to swim, and relatively undiscovered...... A car is advised, although it is possible to come and visit us using public transport. There is a main rail line to Truro and a branch line to Falmouth, and buses from Falmouth to Mawnan Smith. We also have a discount with a local taxi firm. Taxis to and from Falmouth are about £10 if you use Treble One Taxis.
