Nestled in an orchard with far reaching views over the countryside, Rataboul is a beautiful and peaceful 19th century pigeonnier, tastefully restored in a modern and comfortable style. New for summer 2021! An above ground outdoor swimming pool (6.25m X 3.75m), enveloped in the stone walls of an ancient barn. Shared with the owners, the pool will be a wonderful place to relax and refresh, after a day of exploring. A fabulous retreat for a couple, with additional space for two children or adults on a sofa bed in the open-plan living room. Rataboul pigeonnier sits in a large garden, and it has a south-facing terrace equipped with table and chairs. Layout: Ground floor: Entrance to open plan dining room / kitchen and living room. Fully equipped kitchen with dining table and seating for four people. Living room with sofa and sofa-bed and doors leading to south-facing terrace and garden. First floor: Staircase leading to open-plan double bedroom with king size bed (can also be 2 twin beds). Bathroom with washbasin and shower. Outside: Garden and terrace with dining table and sun loungers. We have just spent three years restoring the pigeonnier and are very happy to finally be able to welcome guests to it. There are a variety of sites and things to do in the surrounding area, from castles to wine-tasting to kayaking and rock climbing. Numerous swimming pools, lakes and river swimming possibilities. Bike Hire available in Caussade (12 kms) Saint-Antonin-Noble Val, St Circ La Popie, Cahors, Figeac, Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, Bruniquel, Montricoux, Penne are some of the many places easily accessible by car. 1h15 minutes by car from Toulouse Blagnac airport. Nearest train station Caussade (12 kms). Walking distance to Puylaroque village with small grocery, post office, a bar and a gourmet restaurant - Les Sens. There are lots of music, art and theatre festivals, especially from spring to autumn, which we can tell you about. In summer there are 'marchés gourmands' - evenings in local villages where you can taste locally produced food, seated at long trestled tables, while listening to live music.
