Kianoleyko , Traditional-Modern Home of Rhodes

Kianoleyko means cyan and white colors as the traditional houses in the Greek islands. This historic house is placed in the village Archaggelos of Rhodes, 30km away from the historical city center (Chora). It is more than 70 years old and it has been renovated while keeping the traditional style of a typical house in the village. We open the doors to our guests to experience the traditional Archaggelitic house combined with a modern style. Can be easily spotted from a distance due to its' colors. Passing through the gate, a big yard is expanding, which can be used as a parking lot. On its' right side, you can find a beautiful garden with a big variety of flowers and trees. By opening the doors of the main house, your journey into history starts. Most of the furniture are old renovated with huge historical and emotional value. Moreover, you can find pictures and decoration styles from the family that used to live there. In total the house is 50 sq.m. and the yard with the garden is 152 sq.m. The house consists of one big room with one double bed and a dining table, which is connected with the second room with two bunk beds and a traditional wardrobe. The kitchen is in a separated room with access from the yard. It is equipped with all the necessary tools and machines (oven, stove, coffee machine, fire extinguisher, plates, glasses, cups, pots, and cutlery). The toilet is a separated room, too, with access from the yard. It is supplied with all the essentials, plus a First Aid Kit and some beach equipment. Furthermore, the house is fully equipped with all the necessary devices: WiFi (13Mbps Download and 1Mbps Upload), two TV (one each room), fridge and a freezer and electrical boiler. In case you would like to pass more family/ friends quality time, you may use the board games that are provided. Minimum stay in the house is four days. It is possible to extend your stay after consultation with the host. The neighborhood is a traditional settlement with stone-built houses with big gardens. In the center of the village (approximately 400m far from the house), there are many coffee places, restaurants where you can taste traditional dishes and bars. Also, you can visit the Folklore museum and the central church of Saint Archaggelos Michail, that the village took the name after him. You may find a super market and pharmacy in approx. 200m away from home. The bust station is 150m from the house and you can pick buses to go to: a) the main city of Rhodes (Chora) ~ 1h distance b) variety of beaches (Faliraki, Tsampika, etc) c) areas with monuments and attractions in the eastern side of the island (e.g. Tsambika Panagia (Holy Mary Church~6min) d) Lindos~30min and Prasonisi~2h Within the village, you can move around on foot, since all the places are in a walkable distance.
