The Clyffe Studio

Secluded studio with private patio in beautiful grounds of a former hotel overlooking the Limpley Stoke valley & Dundas Aqueduct. Large swimming pool (shared with hosts). Easy to explore Bath & Bradford-on-Avon, lovely walks to Freshford, Iford & along the canal. The self-contained Studio is down a set of steps and away from the main house. Dog friendly. A house is being built on a plot near the Studio, some building noise is unfortunately inevitable. Our studio has floor to ceiling windows looking directly into the canopy of the trees lower down the slope with shrubs outside. There is no separate bedroom. A private patio is directly outside the studio with a large grass terrace down a short flight of steps. We have board games and books or light up the firepit and enjoy a starry night (wood provided). Travel cot or single floor mattress available. The kitchenette has a microwave, induction hob plus Nespresso coffee machine. The large swimming pool is heated from Easter to end of September (closed during winter months) with loungers to relax on. Plenty of walks with no need to get in the car. Parking is outside the main house and stepping stones lead to a flight of steps down to the Studio. Freshford Village shop and the Freshford Inn are both walkable, as is the Kennet and Avon Canal. Canoes can be hired locally or bring your own paddle-board and explore the River Avon. Wild swimming at Warleigh Weir is close by. We have two excellent Farm Shops within a short drive. Freshford Station is 12 minutes walk and a short ride to the centre of Bath or take the bus from the bottom of the drive. Luggage dropoff or early booking by pre-arrangement. If you prefer to have twin beds rather than zipped (king size) please ask in advance. We are walking distance to the Kennet and Avon Canal or enjoy glorious walks along the river or across to Freshford (the pub is 15mins walk) or across the fields to Iford and their new cafe. Bradford-on-Avon is 3 miles away and Bath just 5 miles. Bath is a short train ride from Freshford. The studio is a 10 minute drive to the centre of Bath. There is a regular bus from the bottom of our drive or a 10 minute train journey from Freshford station. It takes 12-15 minutes to walk to Freshford station, either along the road or via a footpath (slightly shorter but can be muddy). Bath is approx. 1.5 hours from London Paddington by train and easily accessible from M4 (plus M5) or the A303. The property has plenty of private parking. Parking is shared with the owners house and also with builders from the building plot next door. If you are bringing a dog, please be aware the substantial grounds and garden are unfenced. We do not provide dog bedding etc.
