LA JAGÉE 17th century Manor in the Loire Valley

We offer a light bright space close to Azay-le-rideau and other chateaux of the Loire. Our art collection, fine linens and comfortable furnishings will make you feel at home. We include breakfast in our price and are happy to cater for vegetarians. We welcome all. Two rooms are available. One in the photographs. The other has two beds which can be one king. It shares the en suite with the illustrated room so OK for families or friends. Contact us for information/requests. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We have a large collection of Australian Indigenous Art which is displayed throughout the house. You are welcome to wander through the salon, library and dining room to see the collection. As well there are original artworks hung in every bedroom. We are happy to discuss them with you or to guide you to books in our library for further information. Well behaved pets are welcomed by our own two dogs. The library has a large collection of books in English and some in French. This is also the location of a large television available for your use. The large salon is a comfortable space for guests to sit and chat or read or have a cup of tea or coffee. The breakfast room has some lovely bright artworks but is open to guests only in the mornings. If you order the table d'hôte it will be served in the formal dining room. We live just outside the village of La Chapelle St Blaise which is 50 metres from Aza-Le-Rideau. Azay has two lovely small chateaux and is a very picturesque village. It is a 20 minute pleasant walk from our property to the Chateau, or a 5 minute drive. Our cycling guests enjoy the route de velo de L'Indre which takes in many of the delightful sights of the area. We are part of the UNESCO world heritage site of the Loire Valley, listed for cultural, historic and natural beauty. We invite you to ask for information on your interest and will endeavour to point you to the spaces where you can engage with French culture . We have two dogs, a Lagotto Romagnolo and Toy Poodle. Both dogs have wool coats not fur so there is very little likelihood of allergic reactions to them. They are friendly but energetic so you will be greeted with a flurry of excitement and the offer, from the Lagotto, Lucio, to play ball. Your pets are welcome if well behaved and house trained.
