Our place is a haven for birds and wallabies. Fifteen minute walk to Snug Beach. Local amenities ten minute walk. Snug Falls close by. Tranquility in abundance. Huon Valley and the beautiful town of Cygnet both within easy reach by car and the Bruny Island ferry port only ten minutes away. Cottage is equipped with games, cards and books. We endeavour to make sure there are basic condiments along with tea and coffee of course. Fresh towels and linen provided. Owner available at all times We are lucky to have Snug Beach so close. A beautiful and generally, very quiet bay and only a fifteen-minute walk away. Alternatively, Coningham Beach is a five or six minute drive. Also within walking distance is a local IGA that sells everything, the Snug Tavern and bottle shop and a lovely Chinese restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner. They also sell delicious ice creams. Check out the Lavender flavour, made direct from the beautiful lavender farm at Margate. We have our very own Butcher who is famous in the region and 8 minutes in the car, the Margate train is a must, with the best antiques, pancakes, ice-creams and lolly shop. If chocolate is your thing, travel 7 minutes in the car (on the way to the Bruny Island ferry) and stop at the Woodbridge chocolate shop. Chocolates to die for. Further afield is Huonville and Cygnet, both very much worth a visit for museums and art and fresh produce. You’ll be spoilt for choice for vineyards on in the Huon Valley and don't forget to check out Willy Smith's apple shed that boasts every type of cider. For something naughty, try the famous woodfired bakehouse in Cygnet. Although there is plenty of walking, (maps and directions provided), a scenic drive will take you past some spectacular scenery and out of the way cafes. Head towards Egg and Bacon bay and have a cheeky gin tasting session at Grandvewe or stop for a coffee or dinner at Peppermint Bay. Buses for town only ten minute walk away. Driving into the city takes approximately 25 minutes. Or 15 minutes to Kingston that has supermarkets, clothes shops, a fantastic beach, pubs, restaurants, banks, hairdressers etc. Lots of walks in Snug, Margate and Coningham. Or head over to Bruny Island by ferry from Kettering (11 minutes by car).
