Whether you enjoy beach or bush we are just off the main road and the perfect base for your Coromandel Peninsula adventure. 10 mins from the beautiful sandy beaches of Tairua and Pauanui. 20 mins from Whangamata. The iconic Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are not far away. Bush walking at the end of the road in the Puketui Valley. Plenty of off street parking, room for your boat/toys. Outside cooking. Affordable family accommodation. Ask about our discount for under 16yrs. You are detached from the house in a spacious area that includes large open plan bedroom/living with partial wall to one bedroom. Your own bathroom with awesome shower, toilet and native timber handmade sink. There is a covered outside kitchen and you do have kettle, toaster, microwave, bbq and fridge along with plates, cutlery glasses and mugs. Pre-prepared food is always easy. Basic bbq tools, oil, salt and pepper provided. Outdoor area with bbq table and sun umbrella has great views of the hills. Recycling bin provided. No TV but board games, a pool table and darts will keep you entertained after a day spent exploring our beautiful area. Overnight stays also welcome on application but a $40 cleaning fee will apply. We want to ensure you have the best stay possible so it's up to you how much interaction you would like. We are generally around the house or farm so available to help with any questions or directions. Alternatively you may be after a peaceful escape. Your privacy is always respected. If you wish to have a tour of the farm and learn about what we do, that can be arranged. Allow about an hour. $10 per person, max 4 at a time. Lovely white sandy beaches just 10minutes away in Tairua and Pauanui. The secluded Opotere beach is 15 minutes south. Explore the old gold mines up the valley with bush walking at the end of the road (10min by car). The Tairua river is on our boundary and is great for kayaking or swimming. There is a popular fresh water swimming hole 2km away. The iconic tourist destinations of Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are only about 45 minutes away. Explore boutique shopping at Whitianga, 1hr north or Whangamata less than 1/2 an hour south. The Grahamstown markets in Thames on a Sunday showcase local produce and products. Car is the best way to explore the Coromandel Peninsula as there is limited public transport. We are walking distance from Prescotts Garage in Hikuai, which is the bus stop for the Intercity and Naked Bus services. In an effort to stop the spread of Covid 19 we do an extra deep clean and leave a 24hr gap between guests. Because of this we have decided to impose a 2 day minimum stay for Dec and Jan. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but believe your safety is paramount. There is plenty to see and do in our area and we strive to provide an enjoyable and stress free environment so you can kick back and relax in our little corner of paradise.
