Stay in our renovated coach house at Manoir Delarue. Four generous ensuite rooms full of French vintage charm and elegant decor, spacious open-plan sitting room and kitchen and a large terrace with garden views. A perfect escape in the bucolic countryside of Auvergne, between the Foret des Colettes and the Sioule gorges. This idyllic region of France, north of the Massif Central, has pretty countryside, historic spa towns, medieval villages and castles on a backdrop of rolling hills and rivers. Opposite our family home, Manoir Delarue, across the terrace, is our 18th century gite and coach house. The coach house has three large ensuite double bedrooms on the first floor, a beautiful vaulted sitting room, library area, modern kitchen dining room, laundry/cloakroom and large shaded terrace with BBQ. In autumn 2019, we opened another spacious bedroom downstairs, with private step-free terrace acccess and a large wet-room. After 8 years of restoration and renovation, we have created an exceptionally comfortable residence without masking the character of the property. Local villages have inspired the bedroom names in the coach house. Each bedroom has been decorated and furnished in an individual style with lots of French vintage charm. Every bedroom has exposed beams and solid oak or natural stone flooring - 3 rooms have a large modern walk-in shower in the bathroom, and the fourth ensuite has a jacuzzi bath: "Charroux" Named after one of France's most beautiful medieval villages, an elegant room with a velvet upholstered king size bed, pretty vintage love seat and jacuzzi bath tub, hidden behind an internal wall where you can relax and look at the stairs through the window. Tea and coffee facilities. 26 m2. "Chouvigny" A light and airy room with a king size four poster bed, 2 Louis XV-style armchairs looking over the terrace and garden and a dressing table. Generous shower hidden behind the internal wall with magnificent oak beams over head. Tea and coffee facilities. 25m2. "Hérisson" Romantic room split over 2 levels, with an upholstered double bed accessed by internal stairs on a mezzanine, surrounded by oak beams. Generous shower room underneath. Downstairs in the sitting room is a sofa and dressing table with lovely views over the terrace and garden. Tea and coffee facilities. 24m2 +7m2 mezzanine. "Chantelle" The most spacious room, with travertine stone floor and underfloor heating, beautiful stone walls. It has either a super-king size bed and a single bed/sofa or can be made in to 3 single beds as required. Private step-free entrance on to the terrace with table and chairs, and step-free entrance to the large ensuite wetroom or to the sitting room/kitchen. Tea and coffee facilities. 34.5m2. The coach house is entered by large oak glazed doors which fold back to give wide access to the sitting room and kitchen. The sitting room is double height inside with exposed oak timbers - a really spectacular space to entertain or relax with friends and family. The downstairs bedroom is accessed by a separate corridor with a laundry and cloakroom at the end. On the mezzanine level there is a library with daybed and chairs and information about the local area, and family games. There is a fully equiped modern kitchen with family-size dining table for 10 and an additional pantry with extra fridge-freezer and shelving for tidying away all your shopping. For hot summer days - the terrace has another family-size table and an outdoor kitchen with BBQ. Step off the terrace and enjoy our large park garden with mature trees for shade, vegetable patch and chicken run. Enjoy our large park garden full of mature trees and shady spots. Guests have their own private entrance, large terrace area with garden furniture and barbecue. The coach house has a cot, toys, books, high chairs and everything needed for young visitors, as well as swings and a tree house with sand pit reserved for younger guests. All linen, towels and toiletries are provided and there is WIFI throughout. Breakfast provided on your first morning with us. Minimum 6-night bookings are standard during 'le Grand Vacance' of July and August, this year from Saturday to Friday to allow thorough cleaning between guests. Bed and Breakfast: Excluding July and August, it is also possible to book individual rooms for B+B, please search under the room name, and send a message to check availability. Normally, Gabrielle offers excellent 4-course dinners with wine using local ingredients and produce, but unfortunately dinner will not be available during summer 2021. Auvergne has a rich gastronomic heritage, excellent cheese, charcuterie and fertile countryside producing great produce that you can pick up at local markets. A generous breakfast will still be available. Gabrielle is available to give you tips about the local area - things to do and places to eat. Escape the crowds and come to Auvergne to discover the beauty of rural France. In a peaceful village setting, you will find Manoir Delarue with 230 years of history and heritage, lovingly renovated by Iain and Gabrielle to create a home for our family and a haven for our guests. Nestled between the Foret des Colettes and the Gorges de la Sioule, is our small village of Nades. This quiet region of France, located north of the Massif Central, has a unique charm with preserved medieval villages, castles and historic towns on a backdrop of rolling hills, rivers, gorges and pretty farmland. Hiking, biking, horse riding, high-wire forest adventure courses, swimming lakes and rivers, local farmers markets, canoeing and kayaking are all found within 15 minutes. Fantastic family days out in Clermont Ferrand, enjoy the open air activities along the river Allier esplanade in Vichy, Le Puy des Dômes UNESCO world heritage site, Le Pal forested animal and theme park, Vulcania and the Animal Park of Auvergne are within 60-90 mins. Perfect for a relaxing family holiday or an adventurous holiday with friends, you will find many activities both cultural, natural and for your well-being, nearby. Charroux, 20 mins away, described as one of the prettiest villages in France, is a quiet and unspoilt medieval village, with beautiful cobbled streets, restaurants and cafes and a few craft shops selling artisan products from soaps and candles to the locally well-known Charroux mustard. Saint-Pourçain, thought to be one of the oldest viticultural regions in France, is an interesting market town 25mins away, on the edge of the Sioule river with an excellent Saturday morning market and the wine-tasting cooperative where you can try and buy the local wine. Between the magnificent landscape of the Chaîne des Dômes and the cultural delights of the spa towns of Vichy, Châtel Guyon, Neris-les-Bains and others, you will find something to entertain all ages. Our nearest airports are: Clermont Ferrand - 45 mins Limoges - 2hrs 15 mins Lyon - 2hrs 30 mins By car we are 15 mins from junction 12 of the main A71 autoroute between Paris and the South of France. Our nearest train station is Gannat (20 mins by car), a short change over from the mainline station in Clermont Ferrand, or Vichy (35 mins by car). We take your health and safety very seriously, which is why we are kindly asking guests to check-out earlier and check-in later than usual to allow for airing and a deep clean in between groups. We have also organised our terrace and garden to ensure limited contact between our guests and our family and pets. Thank you for your understanding. Weekly bookings during summer school holidays and 2 night minimum stay at all other times. Please note we have 2 dogs (Springer Spaniels) and 3 cats, although the dogs are not allowed on the guests terrace, the cats are less obedient! No smoking on the premises, thank you.
