"Kουρέας" ( the old barber house) is one of the very few surviving houses from the Turkish period and it was originally the house of the most elegant barber of the town. It has been recently tastefully and sympathetically restored and gives you a unique opportunity to stay comfortably in a real, quaint and charming house. It consists of one main room with a kitchen, table with stools and small sofa, and one separate bedroom with two single beds that can be joined into a double bed. The kitchen has an electric cooker/oven, fridge and large stone sink. The small marbled bathroom, has a sink, toilet and shower. Outside the bedroom there is a tiny patio. Close by there is a small supermarket-type shop, while many shops and taverns are within a short walking distance. The house is 2 minutes walk from the beaches and next door to the old Mosque, in one of Ierapetra's most beautiful corners. You will stay in the busy, real old town, surrounded by real people. If you do not have a car, which incidentally can be parked very close to the house, you have everything within reach, including the boat to go to Chrissi Island, one of Crete's main attractions. Public transport is efficient to move around the area and can be used to reach Ierapetra to and from the airport/port of Heraklion.
