Cottage through the hedge, quirky and spacious
This is my home but when I am away, I welcome respectful guests to stay and enjoy the local area. My spacious cottage is hidden away, and accessed by literally walking through a hedge. Following the path through the small cottage garden, down the steps and you will find the keysafe by the front door. Step inside the entrance hall leading to the kitchen, large lounge and huge main bedroom with built-in wardrobes and quaint jack and jill bathroom shared with the second bedroom. The cottage is part of a Grade II listed building with all modern amenities. It is extremely spacious. A place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, coffee pot, kettle and toaster. You'll find milk and pastries for breakfast in the fridge. The lounge overlooks the cottage garden and has comfortable seating, a dining table with 2 chairs, TV with Freeview and a decorative log burner in the fireplace. The main bedroom is at the rear of the building overlooking the road and has a double bed. There is secondary glazing over the sash window to keep in the warmth and to lessen the road noise. The window cannot be opened. It is a large room with plenty of wardrobe and storage space. The neighbouring property has their lounge over the bedroom and you may hear their floorboards "squeaking" at times. There is also an ironing board and iron for your use by the long mirror. The bathroom is ensuite (jack and jill with the second bedroom). It has a corner bath with shower over, and a shaver socket and mirror over the wash hand basin. The second bedroom is also at the rear of the building and has a double bed. The window opens. The bathroom is ensuite (jack and jill with the main bedroom). The cottage style garden has steps, a table, four chairs and a small barbeque. You will have access to all rooms. I am normally available during your stay to help if need be. The cottage is a short 2 minute walk from the centre of Georgian Bewdley with its many cafes, restaurants, pubs and the beautiful River Severn. A ten minute walk to the Severn Valley Railway station and a 5 minute drive to the West Midlands Safari Park. Local buses into Kidderminster but also to Worcester, Bridgenorth and Ludlow. Many fabulous walks in and around Bewdley. Popular for fishing in season. Parking in Bewdley is notoriously difficult. There is no parking at the cottage. The nearest parking is either on street, further up Wyre Hill where the yellow lines stop, or in Dog Lane Car Park in the town centre - about a 3 minute walk away. Parking there is free between 9pm and 8am. There is a 24 hour or 48 hour ticket available, as well as normal hourly rates.
