The Old Bakehouse. Cosy cottage near the beach.
This cute single storey cottage has two double bedrooms and a large open lounge with a kitchen and seating for up to 6 people. You have a private garden with a little lawn and access to the large hotel garden which is currently being newly landscaped by an expert in sustainable planting and later in the summer we hope to have our new hot tub available for cottage guests. The little end double bedroom has its own garden access too. You have plenty of room to park your cars and a private garden for your exclusive use as well as access to the hotel garden at the rear. We live a moments walk away across the park and during your stay we intend to be available as you require but unobtrusive. You are immediately adjacent to the hotel if you wish to have breakfast with the hotel guests and our mobile numbers in case you need us for any reason. There would be an additional charge for breakfast of course, based on whatever you select from the menu. The village of Perranporth is a short flat walk away with officially the best beach in Cornwall . It has over 3 miles of golden sand to enjoy, pubs, restaurants, local shops and little art galleries . Perranporth has a strong sense of community and enjoys many live music events, festivals, monthly farmers market and “Plastic-Free” status in order to help rescue our precious marine environment. Perranporth is the home of Winston Graham’s “Poldark” novels, as well as the heritage centre of Christianity in Cornwall being the home of St Piran whose iconic black flag with a white cross is identified as the national flag of Cornwall. Perranporth is ideally situated on the north coast of Cornwall approximately half way down it’s peninsula, so staying with us either in the cottage or hotel means you are perfectly sited for visiting all of Cornwall easily. A car is useful for UK to The Old Bakehouse, but for overseas guests who are unused to driving on the left hand side of narrow lands we strongly recommend using public transport via GWR trains to Truro and then perhaps a taxi or bus to Perranporth or flying into Cornwall Airport, Newquay from Heathrow or wherever your port of entry is. For more personal travel advice do give me a ring on + (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The hotel and cottage are currently newly under our management and we please ask for your feedback on your stay as we undergo our refurbishment and extensive landscaping of the grounds to enhance your future stays. We also draw your attention to our experience as luxury tour guides especially with unparalleled knowledge on the Poldark series. Your cottage is actually overlooking the very tennis club that author Winston Graham chaired himself during the time that he wrote the Poldark novels here in Perranporth in the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ’s . We provide the best of bedlinen and towels and also have a number of towels suitable for use on the beach should you forget to bring some along in the car. We do ask that should you wish to bring your four legged fiend along to the Old Bakehouse for their very well earned holiday that you restrict them to the lounge and kitchen areas and bring their favourite bed with you if possible. It makes for happier doggies !! Also please keep them on a lead outside of your own private garden until you are in a suitable location and it goes without saying that we always appreciate you picking up any pressies they leave anywhere in the locality and dispose of responsibly. Thank you so much for respecting all theses seemingly obvious requests !! We look forward to welcoming you soon. Karen xx
