The neighbourhood is a residential area that consists of private houses or 4-5 storeys condominiums with garden. The area is in the foothills of Penteli Mountain with pine trees and other Mediterranean vegetation with mild dry climate. In the nearby square, at approx 50m from the apartment there are a bakery, a pharmacy, a small food and vegetables store and a variety store also with newspapers, magazines and tickets for the bus. The market area of Melissia with banks, shops, taverns, etc. can be reached either by foot (at approx 1km) or by bus The bus station with lines to the metro station, to Maroussi and to Kifssia is also at the square in front of the food store. You can get to downtown Athens as well as to the Acropolis by metro or by the main bus line on Kifissias Avenue. Exact information will be available. Parking area is available. If you have a car you can drive through Penteli Mountain to the beautiful east coast of Attica in 20minutes and enjoy swimming in wonderful sand beach of Schinias in Marathon (approx 40km from downtown Athens). Particularly, in summer rest hours 2.30pm-5.30pm are to be respected. In summer, rain in in Athens is rare, temperatures in the area are lower by 3-4 degrees than in downtown Athens. The metro is close (5km), there is a local bus line to the metro, the metro ride to the airport is 15'. Also by car, the drive is 12 minutes, by taxi it costs approx 30euro.
