Shared courtyard, BBQ. WiFi, o/head fans. Netflix, Bluetooth surround sound stereo, 100% green power, Myki cards for public transport, non-smoking. 2 x free bikes (helmets, lights, lock) or ask us about an upgrade to 2 x electric bikes. Funky spacious ground floor studio space, fully furnished, concrete floors, skylights, great workspace (large table, seats 10, natural light) gas heating, overhead cooling fans, full kitchen and bathroom. Full bed linen and towels provided. Separate street entrance, access to shared courtyard and established garden. Guest parking for 1 car. We'll provide Myki cards to get you started on local trams, buses and trains (top them up, use them and then leave them here when you're done!). Or use the free bikes (x2) to get around and beat the traffic! Friendly young family with kids and "Cloud" the housecat (....very friendly, lives for belly rubs) in the main house and - we all look forward to meeting you and helping you explore Melbourne by bike, PT or car to make the most of your stay. Have coffee with us in the morning if you like! If you're a keen road cyclist, just ask us about joining regular classic rides around Melbourne with friendly local riding group - Beach Rd (Saturdays, 70kms) and the Yarra Valley (....there will be hills) (Sundays, 65kms) or Kew Boulevard midweek rides and post-ride coffee stops. North Carlton is just 3.5kms north of the city and is known for the local cafes and restaurants - Park St Cafe, Carolina's and an easy walk to North Fitzroy Village (10 mins), Rathdowne Village (15 mins) and the super-hip, ever changing, Lygon St, Brunswick area (numerous bars, cafes, shops). Eclectic, cosmopolitan Sydney Rd is about 15 mins walk ....or use the free bikes to get around faster and explore Melbourne's expanding bike track network. Fantastic nearby parks and gardens with a open green space right across the road, 10 mins to huge Princes Park/Royal Park (...leave the city behind you and get lost!) or Edinburgh Gardens - two local 50 metre local public outdoor pools (Brunswick and Fitzroy), public golf courses and tennis courts. Nearest grocery stores are IGA X-Press (Itarro) Brunswick Rd, East Brunswick (150m, 1 mins, 7am to 11pm - great for essentials, also has a bottle shop), Barkly Square, Brunswick (Coles/Woolworths - about 15 mins walk) and North Fitzroy Village (Piedimonte's IGA on St Georges Rd - 10 mins walk) We're lucky to be served by two tram lines - Nicholson St (#96) and Lygon St (#8) which will get you to the City (15 mins), Lygon St (Carlton, 10 mins) and Melbourne Uni (10 mins). St Kilda can also be reached on the #96 (about 40 mins - its the classic inner-city Melbourne trip!) or just take the free bikes (x2) down the stunning Canning St bike super highway into town or explore Fitzroy, Brunswick and Parkville. Or circumnavigate the city by bike on the 27km Capital City Trail with many points of interest along the way - The Convent, Collingwood Children's Farm (great for adults too!), Yarra Bend Park, the beautiful Yarra River, Toorak, South Yarra, Botanical Gardens, South Bank, Docklands, Melb. Zoo, Southbank, Kensington, Parkville/Princes Park - just search for "Melbourne cycling rides - Capital City Trail" on Youtube for a preview of the "clockwise" direction ride (it passes the Studio at around the 3.10 min mark). We're about 20-25mins by taxi from Melbourne Airport - about $50-60AUD one way (Uber is less ($30-40). There are Skybus options to CBD (Southern Cross Station) which is then about 20 mins by public transport to us.
