Casa do Tapadinho is an authentic rustic villa - close to the south bank of Douro River - isolated from the outside world, located in a peaceful and welcoming countryside area - just 1 hour driving from Oporto airport - where the green color is the empress. It combines the charm and glamour of a traditional family house with the comfort of all the modern facilities that provides you with an unique and pleasant stay among the vineyards and terraces or by a great swimming pool. The 10,000 m2 property has a few different environments to choose from, according to your mood. Near an old water tank, you can rest while reading a book. Here, the sound of running water or the chirping of birds will be the only enemy of total silence. On the opposite side, you can find a pool (6.5mX12m and between 1m and 1.5m deep) where you can swim and play with your children. Between these two areas, you can walk, shoot a small vineyard and find some fruit trees. The house, rustic decorated, consists of two comfortable bedrooms - with double beds, a complete bathroom and a strictly equipped kitchen that merges with an adjacent life forming a pleasant open space. Simple, beautiful, functional and with everything you need. Note that, during the cold seasons, the pool will not be functioning. You can enjoy the comfortable fireplace inside the villa. We will provide firewood for your stay. Please note that the house has central heating, a fireplace and we also provide an electric heater for the cold seasons. Barbecue facilities and a table football are also available for your entertainment. Guests have access to all parts of the house, both interior or exterior, including the garden and the swimming pool. Note that, during the cold seasons, the pool will not be functioning. Upon arrival, we will welcome you, check you in, and share tips on what to do in the region, as well as answer to any other questions you may have. During your stay, we are always on hand to assist you whenever you deem necessary. Douro River beaches are close from the house and there you can swim, ride a kayaks (in Raiva - 15 minutes) or practice nautical activities (in Pedorido - 20 minutos). In Castelo de Paiva there are several cultural activities like visit Marmoiral do Sobrado, Memorial de Alpendurada, Museu de Pedra de Alpendurada, Pia dos Mouros, Convento de Alpendurada. However, to have a (rented) car is very helpful so that you can visit the surroundings and go, for example, to a restaurant or supermarket or to discover the region by yourself.
