The decor is the traditional cool Tinian Island look, with blue glass on the tympanums above the doors, which sheds muted light inside, hand hewn marble accents, inlaid mosaic, dovecote accents decorating the cottage, ultra modern amenities and very comfortable and cozy. The view is of various villages on the terraces below and various Islands of the Cyclades: Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Delos and Reineia. My Cottage offers quiet, privacy, nature, clean air, meditative and breathtaking views and the authentic experience of a traditional Greek village. Situated in the highest Village of the Island - Arnados, with breathtaking views of other villages, the Aegean sea and other Islands such as Mykonos, Delos, Ante-Delos, Syros and Paros. The magnificent Kechrovouni Monastery is within walking distance from my home. In the Village of Arnados is a Church and Church square, 2 Tavernas, a Folk Art Museum, many medieval archways and walkways, an old bubbling, cool fountain that was the clothes washing area in the olden days and the very popular Bee Restaurant is found on the road to the Monastery, a short 5 minute walk from my home. You are booking a self catering apartment but Emma & Nikos of Aegean Dream BnB are your hosts and can assist you during your stay. They can arrange car rental and provide local tips and suggestions. It is next to Kehrovouni Convent and is one of the oldest villages of Tinos but also the one with the highest altitude. It boasts traditional Medieval arches and cobbled streets and paved walkways that you can get lost in as you amble around. There is a historic water fountain of 1823 at the upper square, and a magnificent view to the Aegean sea and other islands. There is a large Church within the Village limits called the “Assumption of Virgin Mary”, and a tiny little Church hidden away within the medieval archways, called Panaidaki, or little Madonna-Church. Signs will lead you to Panaidaki where the legend says, a so called Secret School operated during Ottoman Rule. There are two charming Tavernas in the Village itself, a 2 minute walk from my Cottage and another 2 Tavernas on the road, a 5 to 8 minute walk from My Cottage ('Bee' and 'O Arnados'). The village has two museums, the Church Museum, founded in 1987, with ecclesiastical equipment of churches in the area and various religious books, and the folk museum showcasing a turn of the century home with domestic appliances and old tools. Do hire a vehicle as the village of Arnados is very high up on the Island and the best way to explore the Island is by car. You can also choose to put on your hiking boots and follow the many footpaths leading to the many dovecotes dotted around the landscape. The Port and Town (Chora) of Tinos is only a 10 or 12 minute drive from my Cottage. There is also daily public transport from and to the Port and Town as well as to the various beaches and select villages. Look at the KTEL Timetable for details. There are many goats and sheep that roam around the area which lends charm and naivety to the area. You can relax on my balcony and hear them most of the day, along with the Church Bells. It is very easy to walk to the main part of the Village. Take a left turn outside my front door and walk up into the Village from the top and behind the Yellow House and tiny Church just behind it.
