It may give the impression you are in the middle of nowhere in fact Montpellier, Nimes, Uzes, Sommieres, Anduze and Ales are all within a 30 minute car journey, you are in the middle of everywhere. A collection of ancient buildings newly refurbished boasts a huge swimming pool with stupendous 360 degree views and an enormous terrace. This is an ideal place to just relax or explore this beautiful region. Here at La Deveze the collections include: Maison du Domaine, Maison du Coutach and The Hayloft also listed on Airbnb that share the expansive pool and surrounding terrace that sit within 37 hectares of unspoilt woodland, meadow and garrigues littered with wild thyme, rosemary, asparagus, girolles and truffle. This natural environment is home to numerous birds and animals. Alongside this, your accommodation is luxurious and provides all the modern comforts you could need. Beds with sumptuous white linen, fluffy white company towels, and impressively equipped kitchen ideal for any budding master chefs. Should you have a particularly large party why not rent more than one house for a holiday to remember. All 37 hectares are at your disposal for walks, picnics, snoozing in the shade or enjoying a glass of the famous local Pic Saint Loup wine at one of the hidden viewpoints with table and chairs dotted over the land. Every year Quissac and the surrounding villages put on wonderfully traditional festivals with great food, wine and entertainment. The area is a walkers paradise with sea views from the hillside above La Deveze. Within 20 minutes you can be mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, river canoeing or white water kayaking. For a more relaxing day organise a selection of wineries to visit under the shadow of the Pic Saint Loup and experience the passion of these skilled wine makers. Quissac, Sommieres, Anduze, Uzes, Lunel and St Hippolyte du Fort all have typical french markets both food produce and brocante. The Mediterranean coastline offers stunning beaches such as Espiguette, Sete, La Grand Travers, Aigues Mortes and Saintes- Maries- de- la- Mer in the Camargue home to the famous flamingoes and bulls. The whole area is brimming with culture from the Roman Arena at Nimes where Ridley Scott filmed Gladiator to the sophisticated streets and shops of Montpellier set within the stunning Centre Historique. We advise that you have a car to hand as public transport is infrequent. We do have friendly dogs and a few cats, all are friendly. Please let us know if you are uncomfortable with the dogs that are easily kept in their comfortable kennels.
