The Mill is in an elevated location surrounded by a swathe of olive groves in the quiet hamlet of Harvata (in Venetian times called Peristeri), about 5km inland from the 'new' coast road (E65). The Mill is situated about 500 feet above sea level, and offers stunning mountain views to the south and views over the Bay of Hania and the Rodopou Peninsula to the north. Although The Mill is in a secluded location and requires car hire, it offers easy access to the surrounding country side and coast. Local amenities including mini-markets, a baker, tavernas, pharmacy, garage and the like are available in Tavronitis, less than 10 minutes drive from the Mill. The Mill is about: 10 minutes from the shops and fishing village of Kolyimbari, 20 minutes from the Blue Flag beaches at Platanias and Agia Marina, and 30 minutes from the beautiful Venetian harbour town of Hania.
