It is a wealthy residential district in Central Cairo that spans the east side of the Nile just south of downtown. It is the location of the famous Midan Tahrir. Known for its quiet, upscale, and secure atmosphere, the Garden City is a major destination for tourists. The United States, British, and Italian Embassies are all located here. The building is in a peaceful and quiet area surrounded with authentic and traditional old buildings, close to the Egyptian museum and Kasr El Nile bridge, where you can have amazing views of the River Nile and Cairo Tower. Cairo is a place rich in culture especially in Downtown. We would highly recommend these places to visit during your stay in Cairo: Culture Wheel by the Nile: there is always various music concerts being held here. It is a 30 minute walk by the River or a 10 minutes ride in a taxi. Kayaking: You can enjoy an hour long Kayak experience in the Island for about 10$ Cycling: Cairo is a crazy city in many ways, but we love to cycle around. We have an extra bike if you would like to borrow one during your stay. Felucca Riding: you can walk for 10mins till you reach the river and you rent a felucca for about 13$ for an hour and enjoy the Nile. Sunset Walking: The Garden city has a lot of beautiful traditional buildings and green areas. You can enjoy a nice walk around in the evenings. Room art space: close to our flat, you can experience live concerts or if you want to try a very traditional one, you could go to the Makany culture centre. It is open every Wednesday and Tuesday. Bars and clubs: there are only a few in the Garden city but you can find more of them in Zamalek, which is a 10 minute taxi ride. Opera house: Another live concert centre with a variety of concerts and theatre. You can go around by walking or taxi or public transportation including metro The 2 nearest station is Saad zagloul and sayda zainb The rooms might be noisy a bit sometimes but after 2 days u will get used on it like a music 🎶
