In a few steps you will reach the city center. It is not in the ZTL area. Covered with handmade terracotta, handmade by local craftsmen, and with the old wooden beams and tiles typical of medieval houses. The property is located in one of the most evocative places of the city, from which one can admire the superb panorama of the narrow and tortuous gorge of the "Bottaccione", between the steep walls of Mount Foce and Mount Ingino, to which the " medieval aqueduct "and the fourteenth-century hermitage of Sant'Ambrogio. Next to the house flows the torrent Camignano, which crosses Gubbio and whose bank acts as a margin of the characteristic district of San Martino. From the windows of the house you can admire the church of Santa Croce della Foce, from the 13th century, which can be accessed from a small road on the side of the building. The Church, very dear to the people of Gubbio, was reopened to the public in July 2021, after extensive restoration work. The apartment is on the ground floor, directly on the street, and access is possible both in the living room and in the bedroom. We live in the surrounding hills of Gubbio, but we will still be available and present in the city for every need, because our children attend school and various sports activities in Gubbio. Leaving the house and crossing the Porta Metauro (the only one in Gubbio still with the old wooden door), you will immerse yourself immediately in the medieval alleys of the city, embellished with flowers or banners for the Ceri festival. During the Christmas holidays, the San Martino quarter is the background to the crib of the same name, set up with great care in all the streets and on the river bed of the stream. Gubbio is full of churches, buildings and breathtaking views. Not to mention the culinary specialties! In short, you'll have things to do and see! But you could also take advantage of the "Gubbio Express" a train that will take you to the most important places in the city comfortably seated. If you arrive by car and need parking: follow the signs for “Scheggia”. After the traffic lights, walk along the city walls. You can stop in front of the house to leave your luggage for a few minutes (because parking is forbidden), but then you have to park on the street you arrive from or in the nearby public car parks (of the Seminary or the one in via Tifernate 7, after the Municipal Police headquarters).
