We are a small family run accommodation business on the edge of the Springfield township with arguably the best views in the area. Along with four young children, we have four alpacas, a small flock of chickens, 2 cats, and neighbouring horses, sheep, and cattle. Ensure you have proof of vaccine with you on arrival. We do not be accepting bookings from unvaccinated guests. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation in Springfield we should be your first stop. We are tucked away on a back street away from highway 73, and right next to the Midland rail line for all you trainspotters out there. The room is studio style with en-suite and has a TV, toaster, microwave, small fridge, electric jug and complimentary tea & coffee. There is also a BBQ located on the deck if you wish to do any cooking, but there is no hot plate or oven in the room. All rooms are non smoking. A basic breakfast of cereal, milk and peaches is provided. We have a hot tub that you are welcome to use during your stay. The veranda that runs along the units is a fantastic place to sit and watch the sun go down, or you can wave to the world famous Tranzalpine train as it goes past. There is a BBQ on the deck for your use too. I will be here to greet you, and the kids will probably want to say "Hi" when you check in. While you have your own unit the outdoor space will be shared with ourselves and kids. Please ensure you have your proof of vaccine with you on arrival. We will not be accepting bookings from unvaccinated guests. If I'm not going to be here when you arrive we can arrange for the key to be left out for you. Springfield is a small historic railway village. There are a couple of cafes on the main street along with the local pub. There are not a lot of options for evening dinning in the village, however the Sheffield hotel in the next village east (about a 7min drive) offers evening meals Thursday to Sunday, and takeaways most other nights. You can walk around the village, there are several walking tracks if you want to explore our wee town. We are next to the local school so please take care when you arrive and depart if there are kids about. We do have wifi but it is currently very patchy, dropping in and out quite frequently. It will sometimes be good for a few hours then we will have a time of it dropping in and out. As we are very rural and only have ADSL connections out here (fibre is not has not been laid in the village and there are no plans by the line company to do so) we are at the mercy of how much data is being used by the area around us. I do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but unfortunately we do not have a solution to the problem in our hands.
