Would you like to spend your holiday in a very comfortable 4 Star house with spectacular sea views and a large enclosed furnished decking ?Then look no further! The house comes very well equipped with all that you need - just bring yourself and your personal items. The house is all on one level and is wheelchair accessible as well as being dog friendly. It is close to the beach and all the amenities of Lamlash -including shops, 2 pubs, 2 cafes, 2 hotels and the golf club which all serve food. Enjoy your visit relaxing on the decking while watching the antics of the red squirrels as they run around the garden. The house is very well equipped for your visit and is often described as " a real home from home". There is one bedroom with a double bed but we can add a single bed to provide two adult beds if required or a cot for a baby and other baby/ toddler equipment. We can also provide aids for visitors with mobility difficulties free of charge. If you have any particular needs then please just contact us and we will do our best to provide for them for your visit. The cottage is fully self contained for your personal use as is the furnished decking with spectacular views. There is a shed for your use for cycles etc in which are stored additional sun loungers for you. Level parking is provided at the top of the drive for your use and adjacent to this is your clothes drying area. We like to be here to meet and welcome our visitors and are close by if any assistance is needed. It is a great pleasure to us to meet out visitors. We are available to share our knowledge of our island with you if desired and to answer any questions you might have about Arran - or anything else. Lamlash is well served with excellent places to eat and drink within walking distance of the house as is the golf course. A ferry to Holy Isle leaves regularly a short distance from the house which is a very interesting place to visit. Holy Isle itself, presents a spectacular and changing view from the house. Sunrises can be amazing as the sun appears from behind Holy Isle lighting up the bay. At night the bay can be swathed in moonlight giving amazing views at all times of the day in addition to the sheer spectacle of the night sky in our situation of little light pollution. All this , and more, can be seen from the decking or through the windows of the house. Arran itself is a most interesting island, known as "Scotland in Miniature" for good reason. Geologically that is an accurate description as the Highland Fault Line runs through Arran meaning that the north of the island is like the mountainous highlands but the south of the island is like the rolling hills of the borders. As a result Arran gives every kind of view you may expect from waterfalls and meandering rivers, inland lochs to sandy beaches and even a beach by a mountain lochan suitable for swimming - which our daughter named " the paddling pool in the sky" Arran certainly is a magical place in which there is also an abundance of wildlife that includes a real white stag - the kind of stuff of myth and legend but which is Arran's reality and one you can enoy. The Isle of Arran is a very accessible island by car or public transport. The ferry takes 55 minutes from Ardrossan Harbour and an hour on the train from Glasgow Central. We provide local bus timetables for visitors' use and there is a bus that passes the house during the day. On the island there many, many walks of all types suitable for all levels of walking ability. Some of these can be done directly from the house including a circular route which gives amazing views of Lamlash Bay, Brodick Bay and the Arran Alps. There are books and maps in the house for visitors' information and use as well as other information about the island itself. There are so many things to do and places to see on Arran, we try to provide information on as wide a range of interests as possible but please just ask if you have any specific questions. We hope you choose to visit us and our wonderful island
