Locarno is only 25 minutes away. The house is accessible on foot from the main road in 3 minutes. No loud groups please. Note the house has no dishwasher. The house has 4 double rooms, one with an additional single bed, plus a room with 2 single beds. The owners prefer a maximum of 8 people. Dinner with a view in the garden will leave you speechless. There is purposely no TV! Guests have exclusive access to the entire house and garden I'll be available every by phone or e-mail and will meet you for check-in and check-out. Berzona is the Onsernone Valley's only car-free village and is well-known for its charming stone houses. It has attracted writers, painters, and intellectuals for over 100 years, including Max Frisch, Alfred Andersch, and Golo Mann, who all owned homes here. And 5 minutes walking from the house is a secluded swimming spot in a refreshing mountain stream! Plus dozens of hikes for all levels are available in every direction. There is a bus station less than 10 minutes' walking distance away. Make sure to get off at Berzona (Onsernone), not Berzona Salei! Then walk up the road to the church and call me. Cars can be parked for free in the official parking lot only 3 minutes away by foot. Driving in Onsernone Due to our unique road, driving in our valley involves some rules and habits that you may be unfamiliar with. Be careful of cyclists cutting turns! You may park anywhere as long as: -You do not block the buses and trucks. If a vehicle’s route is blocked, you will hear their horn sound repeatedly as they wait for the vehicle owner to move. -You do not block vision on turns -You do not park in places with signs saying they are private or that parking is not allowed -If in doubt, ask a local You will often need to wait for a car to pass in the opposite direction, or for another car to back up, or you may need to back up yourself. Wenn Sie also ein Auto hinter sich haben, setzen Sie bitte baldmöglichst Ihren Blinker auf rechts und halten Sie an einer geeigneten Stelle an, damit das Auto an Ihnen vorbeifahren kann. Die Einheimischen gelangen so rechtzeitig zur Arbeit und werden Ihre Geste sehr zu schätzen wissen! Halten Sie sich in jeder Kurve so weit wie möglich am rechten Strassenrand. Achten Sie auf entgegenkommende Radfahrer; sie könnten gerade die Kurve schneiden! Sie können im Tal überall parken, solange Sie einige Regeln einhalten: -Ihr Fahrzeug darf Busse und breite Lastwagen nicht in der Durchfahrt behindern. -Wenn die Strasse blockiert ist, hören Sie wiederholt die Lastwagen-Hupe; der Falsch-Parker wird damit aufgefordert die Durchfahrt sofort zu ermöglichen! -In den Kurven darf ihr Fahrzeug die Sicht nach vorne nicht behindern, parken sie nie innerhalb einer Kurve. -Parkieren Sie nicht an Orten die mit Privat-Schildern gekennzeichnet sind oder wo das Parkieren allgemein verboten ist. -Im Zweifelsfall fragen Sie einen Einheimischen. Sie werden manchmal warten müssen, bis ein Auto in der entgegengesetzten Richtung vorbei gefahren ist oder bis ein anderes Auto ein Rückwärts-Manöver ausgeführt hat.
