Barn in the Mendips with stunning views and walks
Mendip barn is a recently converted property set in the heart of the Mendip Hills with stunning views and country walks. The property is furnished to a high standard and has modern kitchen facilities. It is located in quiet countryside (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in a secluded location but still close enough to the charming village of Blagdon with its shops and pubs. The barn is accessed from a country lane and has vehicle parking. Dogs are welcome. Guided hacks available nearby. Surrounded by century-old walls, the Barn offers stylish and high-quality furnishings but is still cozy and warm. The place is perfect for two adults in the upstaris bedroom (single beds). There is also a pull-out sofa in the living room for two children or delicate adults (the bed is 120cm wide). With four people staying, space will not be abundant on rainy days, but it is fine for a hiking-weekend. Unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi, but an excellent mobile connection. The bedroom is on the mezzanine floor from which you can look into the cozy living room. Horses and sheep are waiting outside, wonderful views all the way to Wales and endless hikes. In the evening, enjoy a drink in the pub overlooking Blagdon Lake as well as the sunset. Access to the cottage is provided by a small road that ends here - beyond that there are only footpaths into the (even higher) hills. The cottage is located above Blagdon, there are hardly any houses up here. The entire cottage is at your disposal. Nobody lives on site but there is a contact number in the information booklet in the Barn if you encounter any problems. There are also plenty of suggestions regarding hikes, pubs and outings in this beautiful area. The cottage is located above Blagdon Lake. The entire cottage is at your disposal. The area is listed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby are Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury, Wells and many more pittoresque places, beautiful gardens, National Trust houses and famous caves - and of course the beaches of Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea. A list of golf courses is provided in the Barn. Blagdon has a bus stop with rides to Bristol. Bristol Airport is just 15 minutes by car away. A car is highly recommended and can be rented at Bristol Airport! In the house hiking maps and tipps for outings will be awaiting you. Among other things, the famous organic farm Yeo Valley is just a few minutes walk away, where you can have delicious breakfast or lunch. For lunch or dinners we recommend pre-booking quite some time ahead! You can have coffees and cakes there any time. This Barn is under new ownership and was marketed previously under another AirBnB host. It had highly positive ratings throughout that I unfortunately could not transfer to this listing - so I am starting from scratch, hope you wil enjoy your stay in the Barn and will comment on it here! Thank you!
